While true, the mental architecture itself that is ADHD is not a laughing matter. It was largely responsible for a lot of development in Europe over the centuries as it is a heritable brain type. However in the more mechanized and "refined" society we find in ourselves nowadays it struggles. Now most developments take years and years of development to get out the door. Something ADHD brain types are poor at natively.

Someone with ADHD in an environment with just hunter gatherer tribes would thrive, but in our modern society with our drugs and media, etc. A person with ADHD is less likely to thrive because there's just too much going on.

I agree, I have it along with a nice smattering of oppositional defiant disorder. Granted I was too polite as a child to point out when people are wrong but as an adult that politeness has worn through. I take the diet meth at the highest allowable doses, but as an adult it does not affect me like it did as a child and teenager. My creativity is not blown out like it was, if anything it has made me faster and more oppositional. The drugs help with focus, and as an adult are worth their weight in gold.
