Good goys like Mitt Romney (and many many others) are trying to maintain some semblance of neocon influence, but so far its only been in the form of never-trumpism.
Outside of the elected neocons you have the neocon think tanks and individuals like Billy Kristol forming these in-party resistance organizations, to again, maintain some semblance of neocon influence over GOP policy.
Fact is however, these Rhino neocons have been completely rejected and in time, if republicans stay strong, these ineffectual whimpers will likely disappear when the neocon jewd drop all semblance of being conservative and move back to the democrat party.

You say that as if Trump's presidency hasn't been a cuckservative one. They're not trying to reestablish anything. They're trying to keep it propped up. Trump Era is like the the 1970s, it's the last gasp of a dying political culture.

In this case it's Reaganism compared to the New Deal of the time but Trump's presidency is, realistically, similar to Carter's. They both won on the idea of being political outsiders who would fundamemtally dismantle and change a dying political system but they lacked the connections, leverage and clout needed to do it. Instead they're challeneged and hamstrung both by a bolder and increasingly more radical opposition party and establishment elements of their own party who are opposed to them personally and are especially hawkish and see them as weak on foreign policy. Who knows if Trump will be a one termer like Carter but this election will be the last of the Reaganite system. 2024 will look a lot different.
