Today, the House Intelligence Committee held a hearing on "Misinformation and Conspiracy Theories Online". It was a pretty quiet event without much controversy as House hearings usually tend to go, however there was one particular question that stood out that might have huge implications. This representative asked the following:
>"We've been talking about foreign influence in Russia, Russian active influence... I'm concerned that it's playing a role here in [Cue-user]. Last question to anybody, are there ways that we might be able to infect the conspiracy theory, the [Cue-user] conspiracy web with other ideas or stories that can sow confusion and discord, and cause it to collapse in on itself. In other words kind of embed other crazy things that might pit groups against each other within the theories."
>infect the conspiracy theory >with ideas or stories that can sow confusion and discord >pit groups against each other >literal astroturfing/divide and conquer strategy
Everyone else asked general questions like "oh what can we do to stop this terrible thing", but I'm shocked that this congressman was so specific and blatant in suggesting divide and conquer tactics. I will give the benefit of the doubt since he is not saying they currently do this anywhere else, just asking if it could be done. But it makes you wonder considering he was so specific in the concept and assumed that Congress could authorize such activities against ideas they don't like, are these tactics being employed anywhere else?
They've literally been doing this for decades. The CIA literally came up with the "conspiracy theorist" meme and forced the moon landing hoax meme to make people seem crazy. It was partially an attempt to cover up the drug running they were doing as part of Iran-Contra and selling crack in black neighborhoods.

Are you retarded by birth or did you work at it?

why shouldn't we kill the people who've fucked with our democracy and constitution? if you don't see Trump as our Gorbachev, your head has been in the shitter. Putin wants us to break up into smaller states and the whole West Coast to be subsidiary of China. Is that what you faggots want? Because if you do, you should get the fuck out of my country and get shot for treason
Maybe I do what that to happen, then the Liberal Filth this country has spread and enabled across the world can get the axe it deserves.
I just pray "patriots" like you are swung from the gallows, from neocons to neolibs, you Trotskyist ilk will get what you deserve. And if our country must fall to put an end to the whore of Zion then so be it.

Bro it's literally the first thing that gets said when you click the link
It's just Congress/Deepstate trying to invalidate the first legitimate grassroots movement in the US in a long time, something that grew organically on the American internet right out of the OWS. They blame Russia and China for their own domestic problems. Russian propaganda is obvious, just watch the positions taken on RT. Chinese propaganda is poorly done, it's very obvious to spot as they simply take the same position as American news media corporations.
They see anything that challenges the "liberal order" established after 1945 as foreign, despite the fact that the current "liberal order" is foreign to begin with (to America's founding principles).
This is why "conservatives" keep losing, it's by design. Liberals will keep pushing their gay globohomo agenda and they're mad that the American people are not buying it. They refuse to admit that they're pushing an extremely unpopular position.
