It's the catch-22 of social feminist marxism. Women want to be approached, quite badly in fact. They go hysterical and seek attention in rather toxic ways when they don't get it. They can however, be peer pressured into "hating" the advances of men when deep down they secretly love it. This is why women will brag/complain about male-attention with big smiles on their faces. Sure, they may not like clumsy attempts at picking them up (not making enough small-talk, escalating too fast, trying to pry to soon, zero humor, etc) but they have been trained by other women to be extremely rude and mean-sported in regards to male-advances.
They have been fed the fallacy that if a man REALLY wanted them, he wouldn't care how much of a bitch she was to him initially, because he can see the good deep down inside her. A "Daddy" complex. Daddy is required to love his little princess, even when she's being a brat or engaging in downright dangerous behavior, because that's his flesh-and-blood. She now, expects the same from every man who approaches her. If you can't laugh off her rudeness, or "put her in her place" she will not respect you because her expectations of men has been inflated in certain areas and twisted in others.
Yet, their biology still rings true. A man of worth and status who won't put up with such behavior will be chased by such a woman, even if all he said to her was "Hello" and walked away after she was rude. Women want the best man they can get that will invest time, energy, and resources on them but also the man who bonds with them emotionally and can make them feel lots of pleasure in the bedroom. In a nutshell, the modern world has made marriage obsolete without providing anything to replace it. The modern world has destroyed courtship as it was, leaving men having to learn a whole knew set of skills if they want to pursue mating (and this hasn't yet been codified). The modern world has left women pickier than before and this pickiness has resulted in many of them growing old without finding a mate they deem worthy.
There will be a "market correction" at some point in the near future. Either a return to traditional values OR the birth of a new kind of courtship.
