After the first debate I made a thread saying I know Trump won it without even seeing it, because the media were saying the debate itself was bad, rather than calling a winner.
Tonight I watched both. Trump was OK, but it was the usual. And yes it was biased. Constant hostility from the NBC host. But that is what it is. It was not a useful night for Trump. Trump didnt give anything more than usual. Biden on the other hand was better than expected. He tackled the 90s Crime Bill banana skin without any problem. Had had an answer for every question. Didnt have any gaffs. A few stumbled words but not the bumbling fool he is meant to be. I mean personally I felt it was a bit rambling at times, and a lot of "what we have got to do is blah blah" with out giving any reason why a 47 year career politician should be believed that he now finally will make a difference. But the difference in tone between the two town halls was just very noticeable. The Biden one was just much more pleasant. And Biden was coherent. Yes, that all may have been engineered by a biased media, but it doesnt change that is how it was. And that really may be all he needs.

And really he missed an opportunity to knock one out of the park with that ridiculous question about white supremacy. His response to it was better than last time, but he should have been ready to destroy her on that. How many times does he have to be asked that question before he has a killer answer already tee'd up? The facts are on his side with it too. He could have won the night just with that question alone. He could have nuked her from orbit on that one. But his response was just OK.

I watched the Medicare question for Trump and realized Town Halls are his weakest performances. He just does not do well in 'parallel' or 'level' settings (obviously that's all a facade because this is all media spectacle, but that is the outside appearance) because Trump is a showman that works the room best when he has full attention on him or mostly him.
