No, their supposed atrocities were committed by NKVD officials who wore Waffen-SS uniforms whilst massacring civilians in Eastern Europe and photographing themselves in order to blame the Germans for war crimes so that Stalin could be perceived as the great liberator when he planned to invade continental Europe. He had planned to invade all the way over to the English channel to establish a Eurasian Bolshevik superstate.

That was the NKVD user. Read the books posted, they're comprehensive and well referenced. Communist atrocities were transformed into "German atrocities" after Berlin fell. That's the central principle of post war history.

They didn't, unless the jews were a threat to the Soviets. Most of the time, jews assisted soviet subversion. That's what made the population such a problem, their uniform support for communist terrorists.

As refugees in the Soviet union, just like the majority of jews from every other area. What I meant in my post was not that the soviets were responsible for the death of jews. The crime of exterminating non-jews was flipped, and turned into a false story of non-jews killing jews. The extermination of Germans/Ukranians/Poles by the jews became "the extermination of jews by the Germans"

They were the ones that committed the atrocities on the german side, which is part of the reason why Himmler recruited convicts for the job. They also received the primary blame within Germany after WW2. The WW2-generation still adored Hitler after the war and Himmler was considered to be the main culprit behind the atrocities.
Eastern front was where the most important conflicts happened but it was also simultaneously the front of horrors where two monsters fought against each other and whenever one side had a victory over the other, the local populace got massacred. Gulags overall managed to kill more people than German concentration camps but the argument which ones were more evil are a bit hazy. On pure body count, Stalin killed more, but Soviet Union did not have a single Death Camp, all the Gulags were working camps with primary goal of exploiting slave labor instead of killing undesirables.
