They aren't. I was molested by leftists. I wanted to be like that - the verbose "let's unpack this" kind - but my abusers characterized that as angry ranting. Indeed, everything I did that wasn't sexual services was characterized as angry ranting... but I'm a pacifist!
So I eventually rejected that crowd only to be subsequently stalked by "fully reciprocals" (they're not) and confronted with "mirrored" rage everywhere (shitty mirroring!), even though I remained an intellectually-motivated pacifist. I had my life ruined by people who mocked me for accomplishing nothing, as if they hadn't done that themselves diverting a young activist into unpaid sex work.
Meanwhile, I've done my best to retain emotional vulnerability despite aggression, and I'm still searching for a social environment sufficiently bereft of authoritarianism to tolerate people who actually say things like "let's unpack this", to analyze sentiments in depth and detail. I've yet to find it. So far, I've only seen the accusation that leftists talk like that out of people broken into obedience to pedo-protecting conservativism, while actual leftists I've met continue treating patient analysis as rage, fury, and ranting. Last time I tried to "unpack" something, I was reduced to tears by the literally screaming fury that I was reacted to with!
I'm still searching. I'm like that, but leftists aren't. I've been verbose since I was a child, and my favorite adults (twenty years ago now) were the long-winded ones. I can't find people like that anymore. I would assume they all got abused into withdrawing from people characterizing them as "angry", and probably some of them got baited into displays of real actual anger which made them vulnerable to broader liferuin.
So... teal deer... leftists are only verbose in right-wing fantasies AFAIK.
I'm in college and some of my assignments make me want to cry because I know other leftists seem to treat essays as pure rage.
