Atheism just means a lack of belief in god or gods. It isn't even the statement "there is no such thing as god", it's the statement "I don't believe there is any such thing as god or gods". Anything else -- literally ANYTHING else -- is not automatically part of atheism. Atheists can still believe in souls if they want. They can still believe in shit like reincarnation. They can believe in a Spinoza-esque material with all properties. They could be materialists, or not. There is no dogma in atheism, there is no holy book, there are no prophets, there are no holy men; there is only the statement "I don't believe in god/gods". That's it. Nothing more to it.

Fiction can have a noticeable impact on reality. Doesn't make it non-fiction. Superman exists as a concept, but not in any other sense of the word "exists". There doesn't necessarily have to be an extant model for every concept -- the telephone, for example, is not modeled on some real "form of the telephone" or other Platonic shit. It was invented. Prior to its invention nobody could speak aloud and be heard halfway across the world. Nothing existed which could provide that function, ergo there was nothing to model on.
Superman is modeled on a vague misinterpretation of Nietzsche's idea of the ubermensch, which also doesn't exist.
God is just a fantasy character. If he exists, he exists in the same way Gandalf or the teenage mutant ninja turtles exist -- and in no other way. Nothing more than as a fictional fantasy character from some 4,000 year old fairy tales.

Atheism says that there is no prove of God´s existence, therefore, God must not exist. Which is complete bs. By that token, in Roman times they should have thought that there is no possible existence of something like America or atoms just because there was no prove of it.

I've considered myself an atheist ever since I was in kindergarten and the aunts kept feeding me nonsense stories. Then I came to the slow realization that what I thought the word meant didn't match its original use. For practical purposes I began praying not so long ago. The funny part about this statement is that while it's technically accurate, it probably means something very different to you than it does for me. Perception is a funny thing. Speaking of ritual, I'm heading out to my boat to celebrate the sabbath. Maybe I'll manage to Christen it eventually.
