I'm not a christian. There is already a system of palliative care in place to prevent suffering. A myriad of treatments and pain killers that provide comfort for the afflicted. Euthanasia is tantamount to legalised murder. It subverts the hippocratic oath. Encourages a culture of weakness and an acceptance of suicide. This law gives politicians the power to enact death upon constituents. A grim acceptance of a culture of death. It enables bad actors to kill the ageing and afflicted for dubious motives. It isn't immoral because of an imaginary friend in the sky it is immoral because it is dehumanising. An abhorrent refusal of responsibility. Tantamount to abortion. As with birth, death is a vital part of the human experience and should not be detached from life with an injection in a sterile surgery.
