I was thinking back to the days of MySpace when almost everyone was on that platform.
Yes it was clunky and even cringy at times.
HOWEVER!!!
How is Facebook any better?
A corrupt platform that hates our freedom of speech.

Myspace was more about the user than their feed. I think that was the Crux of it.
The main draw of Facebook is that it got a very clean and unobtrusive interface when it came out and that it was more about finding your established social circle online than essentially being a blog, but both of these seem to be going away last I heard.
Lifelog
tom was my friend
Now that you mention it, I don't remember anyone getting deplatformed from og Myspace.
Myspace wasn't just clunky, it was a mess. People could insert HTML code in their pages and even into friends' pages, and so people's pages would be full of flashing garbage and take minutes to load, if they didn't crash your browser altogether.
Facebook at that time was a clean interface, so it was a nice change from Myspace. It was also only for college students at first, so they all got on and that made them think it was the cool place to be.
Or Shlomo Goldenstein in the original Facebook page (which was archived) by Mark Zucc. Or DARPA by Zucc, when it was still called Lifelog.
wholesome, tom was my friend too.
I've said this before, but they killed myspace because it was turning millennials into script kiddies and coders, and would have definitely done the same to the zoom zooms.
the real questions is why did people ditch friendster for facebook. they were literally the same thing with the same interface, but friendster was first.
>Now that you mention it, I don't remember anyone getting deplatformed from og Myspace.
Because deplatforming just wasn't a thing back then.
Facebook was the same way at the start.
Soul vs soulless
I want MySpace to return :(
MySpace was better. I loved having my music playlist on my page so it played songs when you came. Lol makes me think of my ex. What a lying hoe. Feels good thinking about MySpace, it was probably my favorite social media platform.
You folks make allot of good points.
The only reason why I'm on FB is for friends and family. Been trying to talk everyone on leaving the platform for something better but people are just too comfortable with what they know.
Facebook will be dead in the future too, zuck knows it. That's why he bought up so much other shit to survive when FB is irrelevant. Who even uses FB anymore? Last time I signed in it was all targeted ads in the feed and a bunch of shitty memes/censored memes for normie consumption being posted non-stop.
Myspace was conducive to actually making new friends and getting laid. Facebook is just add people you went to school with and shitpost.
In some part timing, luck and chance. Myspace is the equivalent of Vine versus Tiktok. It was the same idea but it was just not in the cards for it to take off. And it was not conceived in the elite circles of Harvard where the money was.
What about old tom or fat black tom? My personal favorite was tivo tom.
Only retards use these data mining honey pots.
Why do I seem to be the only user suggesting that Trump should announce he is going to Gab or Parler?!?! Twitter stock would dump overnight; everything on this site is a fucking twitter screenshot of something Trump said or a faggot's reaction to it. TRUMP CAMPAIGN: DROP TWITTER DUMB DUMBs

Yeah, deplatforming wasn't a thing until recently. It took a while for SJWs to infiltrate the social media and other tech companies and get that kind of power.
Before social media and smart phones, most people online were the type to think if you didn't like what someone said, you didn't read it. It was up to you to curate your own intake, not to shut someone else up.
Facebook will be gone but zuckerkike will be so much bigger.
He wants to be the Microsoft and Sony of augmented reality and virtual reality, which are the next major computing platforms.
Someone needs to kill him
This. Deep State wasn't going to have Myspace stick around since they weren't involved in it.
>muh I only use it for friends and family
You are the problem
Every NPC I've talked to says the same thing verbatim.
>Why do I seem to be the only user suggesting that Trump should announce he is going to Gab or Parler?!?!
You're not the only one. If he left Twitter for Gab, so many others would as well.
Twitter should be nothing but a distant memory by now... I wished it was actually.
Also this. People went to Myspace from Friendster but for some reason (deep state) went to Facebook afterwards. You're right in saying Friendster was pretty much Facebook before Facebook. I mean it didn't have any of the HTML stuff that Myspace had either.
Checked. MySpace was great for meeting chicks. Seems like they were more innocent about online chatting then, more normal and free. No one was making money at it, for one thing.
It is so simple. I have a bad feeling about the whole section 230 issue, like it will fuck conservatives and libertarians in the future as well. Just join the competition. Simple as.

How else are onlyfans gonna find their customers?
I don't even remember anybody getting banned for anything. There simply wasn't enough moderation to cover everything and they didn't have AI or whatever to help them. I saw some of the most cruel and heartless bullying ever on MySpace. Just one girl getting bombarded by stacies calling her ugly and telling her to kill herself.
Facebook has been differentiating its portfolio for a long time now. Instagram will alone keep it afloat for some time. But the fact is it can afford to hire the smartest people, and there is no reason for them to keep working on the flagship product. Facecrook even dabbles in brain chips these days.
Twitter basically still exists because of him. They were close to going under before because they couldn't figure out a way to make money. Then Trump decided to run for election and pretty much kept the platform from dying.
That feel when not one fucking person mentioned Bebo at all.
Screenshot explained. Tom wanted to chill and got a payout. Now he travels wherever the fuck he wants to and takes pictures. Completely out of the spotlight and is rich. Probably one of the coolest founders of a startup because they are turned cucked.
Remember there weren't apps yet where they could just whore it up (no Tinder). Even the early days of something like Plentyoffish were a goldmine because only nerds and good looking women started using it. Then, like everything, when the word got out it turned to trash.
Lemme take a wild stab at this, one is a kike and one isn't ?
my first intro to html and embedding. i actually felt smarter back then.
I need a quick rundown on Tom
Is he even real?
I heard stories like he would take the bus and lived a kind of poverty stricken life.
last name is Anderson
same family name as the people who owned TVGuide and used to invite every US president for christmas to palm springs, in secret. every president would attend....
>1991
based get. very good year. nostalgia. many such cases.
To my everlasting shame I had a MySpace for about two months and a Facebook for two days. The latter was to recover a lost phone from an acquaintance in a moment of stupidity.
I've never understood the fascination.
I've never understood retards posting incriminating information online.
Fucking normies REEEEEE
The internet is the biggest blessing/curse of our generation.
have you seen uh, this movie?
youtube.com
That was most people trying to do anything independent with tech back then.
This 100%.
MySpace was just an all around better platform for communication.
I wouldn't say internet is the problem. When it was a lot of text it was fine. The problem is high speed internet. That's when it all went to shit fast. I mean back in the days of AOL and 56k modems, the stupidest shit you had were messenger chatrooms.
nah I knew a guy at MySpace and there is definitely something that glows in the dark about Tom.
I think he's was a resident inter-dimensional citizen.
also hi Shaytan
Initially Facebook's gimmick was that it was cleaner and more streamlined than clunky MySpace.
As soon as the competition was gone it bloated and became much worse.
Same story as how Google used to be a no-nonsense minimalist search engine until they overtook the competition.
>Tfw Tom was my only fren
