Having a job and earning your own money is great. Part-time jobs really don't take up lots of time and you can meet new people that way- especially women. Once you have some money you can use it to go to music shows or spend it on your hobbies or whatever you like. Once you have a regular income, finding a romantic partner is much easier. You won't have your youthful good looks forever, so you had better get started. A full-time job will earn you lots of money. You could save up and put a down payment on a house or buy a car if you wanted one. Video games are great, but actually going out and living your life is better. Thankfully, you can do both.

I work for the Los Angeles County Dept. of Public Social Services at a call center. Its a 6 story building east of Downtown right off the 10 freeway. I am one of three hundred agents whose job is to answer calls for people applying for food stamps, cash aid, and medi-cal (that's medicaid for all you flyovers)
I fucking hate my job. The money is nice, and I actually work from home now so I don't even have to go into the office, but every day is one massive blackpill after the other. I will say, that on rare occasions, maybe one out of ten callers, maybe fewer, are actual people who are down on their luck and need a little help to get back on their feet. But almost every single applicant is a lifelong welfare collector.
I'd say about half of the applicants are homeless. Or at least they say that they are. The smart ones who know how to play the system will say that they're paying a few hundred dollars a month to rent a room. That shelter cost gives them more benefit allowance, and I dont even need to see any verification, I can just take their word for it.

Im only allowed 45 minutes of call time to conduct an intake interview and another 30 minutes thereafter to finish processing the application after I hang up. If I put too much focus on trying to weed out bad faith applicants, I would process maybe 1 or 2 applications a day. And if I'm not doing at least 5 apps a day my supervisor is breathing down my neck.
