Zig Forums half of all adults in the United States have periodontal disease, and nearly 3/4s of US adults over the age of 65%.
Periodontal disease leads to tooth loss, which leads to decreased productivity and poor mental health.
If the United States is to remain the strongest country in the nation, we must address periodontal disease. When is the last time you went to the dentist to preserve America and the free world?
Periodontal Disease is the #1 health care issue internationally and in the US
A study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine found that men in their 30s who had severe periodontal disease were three times more likely to suffer from erection problems.
Yes and what is the #1 cause of periodontal disease, user?
I'm glad you asked. The #1 cause of periodontal disease is poor flossing and brushing habits.
For a handful of dollars a year, we can temper the number one cause of periodontal disease.
I'll give you your bump now for PSA even though i'm pretty sure this is a slide thread. i need to book an appointment with my dentist. thanks user!
bump for good periodontal health
While the main cause of periodontal disease is plaque that accumulates when we don't brush, other factors (some within and some outside our control) contribute to our risk of periodontal disease.
>Age
>Smoking/Tobacco Use
>Genetics
>Stress
>Medications
>Clenching/Grinding Teeth
>Systemic Inflammatory Diseases
>Poor Nutrition/Obesity
Dont sleep in the road
Thanks op
coconut oil, swish a spoon of it around in your mouth for 20 min, every day. then spit it out.
go on, make fun of me. i cured my fucked gums with this shit.
also: there is a link between dental problems and heart clogging/ cancer. not even joking you. look it up.
get you dental issues fixed. stop putting it off.
no, the number one cause of peridonta disease is eating crap you aren't supposed to eat (like 90pct of produce you can buy)
toothpaste is a jewish trick and causes your teeth to lose their regenerative capablities.
if you only eat meat no sugars your teeth can't get holes anymore.
How does one arch your back that much?
Is she gonna be okay?
Thanks. I don't mean to intentionally slide. I do believe health contributes to national security. Normally I think of national security in terms of the number of obese individuals in the nation which make them unfit to serve by military standards. But poor periodontal health leads to lack of personal productivity and decreased work hours on a national level.
And I have a test next week. Just trying to keep myself engaged.
Thank you.
You're welcome.
Gimme the sauce.
no i believe it. i looked it up when i found out my dad got periodontitis, but he is a faggot.
what is your test on user?
I'm sure the copious amounts of sugar fat ass Americans bombard their body with everyday has absolutely nothing to do with this "disease".
based , it also leads to acute shift in the microbiota of your mouth that increases your risk for a bunch of health problems
I haven't heard of coconut oil. I've heard of tea tree oil, and I mix it with fractionated coconut oil as a carrier for a lot of skin care.
And yes, cardiovascular issues can start at the mouth. The gums are an easy port of entry for bacteria to nest and then travel to the rest of the bloodstream where they cause inflammation and plaque build up.
She broke her back and now she's permanently paralyzed from the waste down, tragic story behind this picture.
high fat diet is amazing for your teeth, but somewhat hard to maintain since high fat diet causes acid reflux in long run.
based and redpilled. im doing a juice fast for November then going full keto. already sort of eating keto now apart from a sugary coffee drink i had 3 days ago. Im going to buy an expensive steak and chop it up and put it inside a jar raw and let it ferment all month and eat it. Bacteria from rotting meat makes you feel so good. as long as its not the stuff that kills ya, but i mean you can make sure the bad stuff doesnt grow.
hey OP, how can coffee consumption affect my dental health?
Obesity is a national security threat
no seriously, look after your teeth my niggers. you do not want to lose teeth or have rotting gum in your face.
my man just take a probiotic lmao jesus christ
I don't care if this is a slide thread or not, this is a good thread.
based
Here OP, it's for you.
Dental health is a massive redpill.
Shitty teeth and people automatically assume you're a retard
Yes, it's true that if you eat meat no sugars you reduce (not eliminate) the number of caries you will get, but you need a balanced diet or else you will end up like Jordan Peterson. Your diet must contain some number of carbohydrates for the sake of fiber, and even broccoli will produce carbohydrates which can feed bacteria in your mouth.
The good news is that if you brush your teeth immediately after eating then you can eat even ice cream and it won't harm your teeth (at least not from the major cause route). Also, you don't need toothpaste, but toothpaste helps a lot because it acts as a surfactant that makes it easier to brush your teeth. Also, it helps with adding fluoride which makes the surface of your tooth less susceptible to carries.
Now IF, and this is a hard IF, you brush diligently after eating sugars you can't need toothpaste, but most people don't brush well even with toothpaste, so I stress the hard IF.
I always thought Americans had great teeth? Seems like you guys take oral health a lot more seriously than the rest of the world
true and based
+1 with coconut oil. what i do is i get a jar of coconut flesh and let it melt in the microwave. swish that in my mouth for as long as i can. (dont spit it out in the sink, the oil will reharden and block shit up).
makes my teeth feel fucking good, and strengthen the gums.
Question for tooth lad.
I’m 32 years of age
I chew nicotine gum constantly.
I am beginning to have some receding gums.
Is the problem due to the gum chewing, the nicotine, or age/genetics?
Pro quest: can I fix my receding gums of am I permanently long in the tooth now?
>When is the last time you went to the dentist
yesterday
1st half root canal
fucking guy drilling for oil
brutal hour in the chair
private clinic
no insurances, only cash money
all perfect inside, brand new equipment
nice pussies working inside
my face still still feels it got hit with a hammer
fuck me.
My ex is hyperflexible because of some genetic condition. She never stretches but her body bends in crazy ways like pic in OP. Also, some women do yoga and stretching.
Also see Coffee doesn't affect it per say, but it can stain your teeth which might have a psychological effect.
>periodontal disease
>ameriburger
Checks out. Maybe if you didn't put sugar in everything this wouldn't be a problem
Source on that image?
Flossing is underemphasized. Just floss til you get the smelly shit out from your teeth every day.
>Your diet must contain some number of carbohydrates for the sake of fiber
You don't need fibre at all, you are putting the cart before the horse. I agree that you should have occasional carbohydrates, but on a year-long seasonal scale rather that a day to day scale, and with honey preferably or some fruits. i.e. you might have some honey/fruits for a month or two and spend the rest of the year being a strict nose-to-tail carnivore.
just brush and floss every day. it's not hard. I'm 34 and I've never had a cavity, and I drink so many energy drinks and sodas it's crazy. get a water-flosser - wonderful.
important tip: brush your teeth in a gentle, circular motion, with the bristles angled to go up under the gum-line a little. you want to SWEEP your teeth, not scrub them. I used to brush my teeth way too hard, and I wore away a lot of my gum tissue and eroded big lesions in a lot of my front teeth. really terrible, and there's no way to fix it without spending like 20k on gum grafts (and that wouldn't fix the erosion of my teeth). Brush gently anons!
Wouldn't interdental brush thingies be better than flossing?
user, i must advise against brushing immediately after eating. this is when stomach acid is highest. some of it finds its way into your mouth, or otherwise it is from acidic foods that you eat. that and residual sugars from what you ate actually act like an abrasive and will permanently destroy your enamel.
i can guarantee you will lead to a lifetime of pain and inflammation in your mouth, as well as some very expensive trips to the dentist and potentially root canal.
I'm gonna lurk in this bicuspid thread until I get some sauce on that fat dumper
Yes, I agree. Usually when I talk about national security I talk about obesity, as I mentioned here Periodontal finals.
The immediate cause is plaque build up which is facilitated by sugar from our diet plus the lack of dental hygiene. When we eat, we get an accumulation of bacteria that generates acids that drop our mouth's pH to about 5.5 for 30 minutes. At that pH, our enamel is susceptible to breakdown. If we brush our teeth within 30 minutes (ASAP being the best) then we prevent that break down.
There is an exception after eating (mostly drinking) acidic foods, which themselves soften our enamel and would cause brushing itself to break down the enamel. You'd be better off brushing before soft drinks, but that tastes nasty so... really it's just better to avoid soft drinks entirely.
