Yes I've been to Mexico many times. This style of house is good for the climate though, the only issue with the one in the picture is it's too small. They don't need some comfy warm house like a foreigner, they want the opposite to try to stay cooler.

Cars are everywhere in Mexico, because Mexicans in the US buy cars with their American wages and then gift them to their family members, but expecting a Mexican to outright buy a car for themselves with their own income in Mexico is preposterous.
