We have enough food, clothes, toothpaste, even energy. All we need is a global military organization in different colored jumpsuits now.
We couod have these Starfleet academies (like colleges, just with jumpsuits) and build up 100 million of these people who do science, law and order and engineering.
Man, do I want to be a Borg. Just imagine how easy life would be. You do your drone work all day, no pressure, no problems, people tell you telephatically what to do.
This society would actually ask people like janitors to work for free and that would never work. Wait...
Oliver Lee
You may do. Just shoot an Antifa and turn yourself in for jail. Job done
Jaxson Davis
>This society would actually ask people like janitors to work for free and that would never work. >Wait... Yes, wait. Also, we would employ thousands of people to,produce robots to clean up.
Wyatt Johnson
>have enough
brudi, we didn't even have enough toilet paper to deal with retarded covid neurotics
Gavin Lewis
Because we have not gone through the eugenics wars in which humans were pretty much all brought up hundreds of years in evolution and breeding removing negative traits from all humans. IE Niggers gained intelligence, chinks gained empathy to life. spics learned to turn the fucking music down at 2am on a funcking sunday, and whites learned to season their food.
Memes aside really the eugenic was is why the trek human society works. In that war, they outlawed genetic modifications because it would lead to super humans that would end up thinking they are better then normal humans, as a result of that war, most of humanity was effected by the genetic modification and basically of the human race reached the same intellect.
Adam Robinson
When you have the tech to be a post-scarcity society, let me know. Otherwise stfu because the only alternative is god damn communism and more famine.
Benjamin Ortiz
Sin

our replicators aren't as fast as providing tyrone with new sneakers each day because our replicators are lazy white working men
Star Trek society is flawed as fuck. Let me explain
Leo Flores
>we
Fucking commie... I have enough, for me and mine. I don't have enough for any more. And whenever I do it is a charity because I want to see someone do some semblance of good once in a while.
Thomas Stewart
No replicators = no unlimited food, water, medicines, etc. You can now close this thread.
We have robotic machines to mine raw materials, robotic machines to drill oil and service solar farms, robotic machines to plow and seed farms, robotic machines to go fishing and tend to lifestock, robotic machines to produce medicines etc.
This, also TNG society was based on one of the biggest mcguffins in fiction...the Replicator. Literally a magic box that can create ANYTHING, out of NOTHING, for FREE and everyone has one.
we dont have replicators. without those it would run like a commie hellhole. get replicators and everyone could just pick what they're interested in and pursue it and be happy
Cooper Reed
The fundamental condition of humanity isn't changed. Since society doesn't have money it revolves around status. The pursuit of the eternal self and hedonism is the only goal of the individual. Propagating the species isn't a concern at all because we can just absorb new species into the "Federation". Nepotism is rampant, tradition, culture have been erased for a unending "progress".
I always like the episodes with the Maki because they told the Federation to fuck off and leave them alone. They didn't want to be ruled by bureaucracy.
Dylan Turner
No. Replicators take existing matter and reconverts it into whatever is needed. Imagine taking the atoms of a tree and reconfiguring them to make glass.
Jace Lewis
>no replicators >no energy source to provide post-scarcity >no ability to colonize new worlds yeah nah couldn't work, not to mention too many subhumans for a high trust society to function
Benjamin Reyes
Who are the slaves to keep making the food, clothes, toothpaste, and even energy?
Samuel Stewart
Sub Commander T'Pol causes a surge in my tachyon particles.
because we'd need that star trek level of energy generation to go along with that level of services, dumbfuck!
Evan Rivera
>can create ANYTHING no, it cannot create high potential energy compounds, extremely complex particles, complex living things, and many others
>free requires a massive energy source that is only mined from dilithium. exploration, labour, transport, and trade involved in the trade/mining. this is not "free" or immune to scarcity or shortages. even if "money" is not necessarily spent it still requires some kind of labour or work. in some cases holograms are able to do the mining, but holoemitters still require energy to function so it makes the mining process less efficient in terms of net energy output
>out of NOTHING wrong again. you still need massive amounts of energy and space/storage for large amounts of matter to convert in a replicator
>everyone has one Replicators actually weren't very common in the trek universe, it was just very common in the federation and other advanced empires like romulans etc. many cultures and species still hunted/farmed, relied on agriculture and trade
Bentley Lopez
Sub Commander T'Pol causes my warp nacelle to leak drive plasma.
>Niggers gained intelligence >chinks gained empathy to life >spics learned to turn the fucking music down at 2am on a funcking sunday >whites learned to season their food. one of these things is not like the other. why is it so hard to find real flaws in white people?
Elijah Reed
star trek is demonology non ironically
Jace Wright
/pol is basically Ferengis
Grayson Mitchell
Because most people would rather get gibs and sit at home then to work in science, law and order and engineering. Starfleet is volunteers, and you have to be accepted. Plus most of the people that would be getting gobs are just too stupid to do science, law and order or engineering. If you cant make more then minimum wage now, you really want them building a bridge?
