user, if this is something that will bother you, this is not the game for you. It's 90% dialogue/cutscenes and 10% gameplay and this is not an exaggeration, it's literal. The first chapter alone is about 2 hours before you get to the gameplay and it's a 10 minute mission, and that's the standard throughout. Again, I'm not exaggerating.

You sort of do. There's enough of a brief conversation before that point to realize that she's a childhood friend and not a total stranger. Beyond that, you go by instinct and see what happens. Win if you win, hold that L if you lose, and keep going.

You lead a group of cute girls who run a theater and are also secretly a squadron of mech pilots that fight demons. Your job is to keep their morale up, fight the demons and maybe fall in love. Also everything is comically Japanese.

It's slightly more complex than that. It's not a case of "I need to slog through all this conversation to get to the gameplay". The conversing *is* the gameplay. So are the battles and the cards. It's a hybrid game.

I completely agree and that's why I'm enjoying it. But that really isn't enjoyable for some people.

They make it a point to establish in that very scene, before the dialogue choice, that the protag knows Sakura already and just hasn't seen her in ages, hence she needs to remind him who she is by samurai-swinging her broom.

When I was younger I was even worse with interacting with people than I am now. Far worse. I got hook on playing Persona 3 and eventually started thinking about my interactions like Social Links. I'd have a Rank Up whenever I did or said something right and Rank Down whenever I screwed up. It was like training wheels.
That's how I learned to not try to tell a funny joke after already telling one and getting a laugh, not to just compliment someone's looks without also adding a bit of a funny remark afterward, not to be so open with everyone, etc.

Maybe this game can do for you what P3 did for me.

During development they had to consider a couple things, like not letting you explicitly romance a 13yr old loli but that's not really censorship.

Those percentages are worldwide, not western specific. While some games have region specific trophy lists, and thus percentages, some don't. New Sakura Wars is the latter, so percentages shown on the trophy list mean worldwide. That's why like 40% have already finished the game despite it only being out here for a couple days.

Since only a small portion of western release players will have finished by now, the percentages shown in that pic basically are the clear percents for the JP release.

Not really any more censored than normal. Even in the original games, they would always conceal the nudity with steam or frosted glass or positioned arms, etc.

The first five games take place in the time period of 1923-1928. In real life, Taisho era ended in late 1926 when the old emperor died and Hirohito took over, but in the games, that never happened and Taisho emperor lives to at least 1940. Also there was a military coup attempt in the second game that was defeated by the efforts of the squad, so that probably also further blunted Japan's military expansionism. The countries of the game's world have more concern about random demon attacks than they do with international attacks.

So, why is this the only DLC that Japan got but the US version didn't get?
