Looking at it as a card game and not something using the shitty League IP, is it a good game to get into and play?

No

No

Yep, don't listen to those people ^ Best digital TCG out right now, and riot is basically giving cards away

>riot is basically giving cards away
First hit is always free

What exactly makes it good in your opinion?

game sucks
better than hearthstone
i'm probably still going to be playing a few games a week in a months time
kill me

Play Vanguard Zero instead.

not him, but whole reactive gameplay thing is nice,
i only played hearthstone so maybe this lor concept is noting new but basically you play card and then your opponent then you then him and so forth, turn end when both are you are done playing cards.
it create actually engaging gameplay instead of all tabing during your opponents turn

I haven't paid a single cent and I have multiple meta decks.
It's fun and interactive unlike HS, no stupid unbalanced cards like Magic. Graphics are great, matches are quick, and devs actually listen to feedback.

Dare you trust Riot? Were you there to see what they did to LoL little by little?
They have a control complex over how their games are supposed to be played, that is even worse that Wizards'.

the best digital ccg right now
not a high bar i know, but it is

Giving away cards for free doesn't do much when the game is boring af to play. And it is.

oh and i almost forget, this card game has pretty huge budget, all cards have nice special effects, level up animation and a lot of voice interaction.
and it being financed by riot means thet they are in it for next few years and are not going anywhere

Magic for babies

Cards arts are terrible, UI is awful, level up animation that you can't skip and get boring after your first game, HS tier level cringe voice line, 15 dollars backgrounds ... what a great budget use

The shitty IP league is the main drawing point . Finally runeterra character are not bound to a shitty moba and are more enjoyable.
Fight me faggots, for as riot and league of legends have terrible flaws , the new universe they created is unironically great, and it has a couple of stories with legititmate good writing (camille)

its ok, its not significantly better than any of the competition or anything, other than maybe Hearthstone, theres a lot more reacting to plays, your opponent can react and counter most of your plays, even more than MTG and artifact, which can be frustrating if you just want to play something chill, but if youre into that its good, basically play whatever card game that has a new expansion for like two weeks and then move on until it gets new stuff again

From shit moba to shit card game ... I don't see how that fix anything. At least LoL has page with lore, LoR is just cringe voice lines over and over.
Maybe one day they'll do good with it in their solo game or something. LoR isnt it.

yeah, they should reuse shaman lightnings effects for all their spells instead

I don't even know what that is but I believe you.

Maybe an isometric classic style rpg would be good, but thats asking too much from them

the art style is pretty generic and not super interesting but the quality and consistency is great

how does it compare to hearthstone? better? worse? same shit?

Here, let me tell you how I feel after playing the beta for months and now experiencing the new cards:

>Gameplay

Fast as fuck for a card game, I'd compare it to a really fast modern game from MTG. It has its nuances and decision making, but the game goes so fast it almost feels like it wants you to make mistakes and relies on pure damage way too much.

Most of the ranked ladder will be super aggro Noxus/PZ BS, so we are now in the middle of the meta rush, looking for the best deck.

I spent some weeks not playing the game before the full release because the meta was so shitty that I couldn't bear to play it any longer, felt like shitty MTG standard, but that's also because the card pool is really shallow right now.

>Grind

Compared to HS and MTG Arena, the game throws cards at you. You get a guaranteed champion, the rarest cards types, once a week and you get 2-3 of each region if you just follow the reward progress system for each region.

You can also just buy wildcards to craft the cards you want, but I didn't spend a single dime on the game so far and I had almost all the champions in full sets by the time beta ended.

>Visuals

Super gorgeous, all the champions level-up animations are cool, every single card has sound cues and voice interactions with another cards that synergise with them in terms of lore and mechanics.

The HUD and the menus used to be pretty shitty during beta, clearly looking like something meant for a mobile screen, but they also fixed that by now.

>Overall opinion.

As other anons here said, it's the best CCG on the market, BUT it's also stuck with all the issues these games have in terms of shitty metas, having to grind later on if you want more than 2-3 competitive decks.

I'm having fun with it, but I'm not investing any money on it until it sets in and actually stabilizes its meta.

You're asking like it's actually possible to make a card game worse than HS.

Better, not doubt, but HS is a really shitty card game.

Gameplay isn't fast. Shit's slower than the like of Yugioh, Vanguard or even FoW to some degree.

Visual are shit and level animation are just the most annoying shit ever.

Best TCG on the market lmfao. Shit's just right above HS and below Vanguard or even Shadowverse in a lot of way.

Typical style over substance player.

i can tell you either didnt play more then two days or were hardstuck sliver. sure there were some meta decks like bannermen, but with every two day new meta decks poped out thet counter previous ones, during open beta there was like 20 different viable meta decks
and even if you played some not meta champs like vlad or yas you still could have pretty good winrate if you fine tuned your decks to suit current ladder and not copied some netdeck

I just want to see cute yordles on this style

my thoughts exactly
poppy/trist/lulu when?

I just hope sixmorevodkas get to do it, I don't like how mars studios rendered that one yordle.

Well, Vanguard and Shadowverse aren't even in the market basically, so yeah. I didn't take those into account.

I like the visuals, they are much better than Arena's and HS.

It is fast when compared to Arena and HS.

I reached diamonds with my ghost horse deck and I'm talking about the last few weeks where they held up the nerfs and balance patches waiting for the full release.

I'm playing Teemo/TF now, I don`t care about being a meta slave, but I guarantee you NOW most decks are Noxus/PZ or SI/PZ spiders.

I get some cool decks here and there, but that`s 60% of the decks on ranked now, which is fine, because I just play Kallista/Lucian with a few lifegain cards for ladder climbing and they fold like paper.

>Slower than yugioh

Thank fucking god. Is competitive yugioh still OTKs basically

Close enough, it's usually 4-5 turn max until one player understand he's fucked.
