I went my whole 28 years of life not knowing that there's a big, big, BIIIIIG difference between Streets of Rage 3 and Bare Knuckle 3. Reworked difficulty, removed bosses, sprites reworked, story rewrote, cutscenes removed; why on Earth was SoR 3 butchered so badly by SEGA of America? And it's not just the homosexual gay miniboss, because that made sense. I'm playing through BK3 for the first time right now and it's almost like a completely different experience. I've been missing out.

SEGA just hates SoR3 for some reason. there's 3DS ports of 1 and 2 that are fucking amazing, but no 3 iirc

I'm so fucking glad that back as a kid I had SoR1, SoR2 and -BK3-. It didn't use regioncheck so I didn't even need to use the Mega Key to get it working.
I couldn't make out the moonrunes back then but considering the intro with the big BOOM and the bomb countdown before the first Round, it was clear it was all about stopping some bomb explosions (had no idea about Rakushin/Laxine until the fantranslated ROM, though).

I've heard repeatedly that Sega wanted their games to have huge difficulty spikes so renters couldn't beat them in a weekend. SoR2 (on the easier settings) can easily be beat, maybe with a continue used, on the first try. the presentation and visceral sensation of playing it is so good that my siblings and I had to get it, and used one of our birthdays to ask for it. we would just turn it on and plow through the game whenever we wanted

SoR3 is frustrating as hell. we didn't want to buy it after we had played it for a while.

Do you fight any police units after that? It seems like at that point in the story the police would stop trying to murder you.

Is it just me or are some of the hitboxes weird? I'm doing a Mania run and the sluts that dropkick keep homing in on me, even when I move up and down to avoid. It feels like a coin-toss whether or not I'm gonna get hit by enemies in this game.

So, what is the requirement for S rank score? Got 26000 in the first stage and got an A, been playing on hardest and died once, does that affect your rank?

I reached the final boss on Hard and died lmao. Third try at it. Tomorrow I shall try again and I believe I'll do it.

First try reached 6, second try reached 9, this try reached last boss. I woulda done it this time, too, but I screwed myself up by losing two lives I shouldn't have and also accidentally wasting a couple of star moves.

Love this fucking game btw. I'd say the retards that are shitting on it need to be euthanised, but then I remember they're not gonna reproduce anyway desu.
