he's literally an allegory for the anti christ
other then that
cool dude can smoke a mean rack of ribs

made me play a whole game fighting and destroying his hard work only for him to be right and win while I get tied to a bed to get raped by southern biblebelt manbunned cock

>Far Cry thread
Ubi$oft shill detected
jk bro I actually really like Far Cry, hope they announce a new one soon

other then the manbun I though he was hot and I wanted to join his cult

Kill a bunch of people, addict a whole bunch of people to joy, create joy zombies, take over a whole county and enslave everyone

i'm a little embarrassed to admit that i've never played through a far cry game other than 5
it was a good time and i found the villains really compelling, but i couldnt even remember the names of any of the allies and some of the dialogue has aged really poorly in terms of humor. is new dawn worth playing? it looks kind of ugly in terms of the setting and the villains look shitty

He killed his child, allowed his disciples to be assholes and he thought walls were bad yet lived on a barricaded island.

his game might have destroyed the far cry universe. I am concerned where the next far cry game can take place after the nuclear apocalypse

far cry 4 is the most fun i've had in with a shooter game.

play far cry 3

it's possible that only america got nuked, so there's still plenty of locations to choose from

i had a fantasy that the next far cry could take place in a mexican cartel situation/location. seems unlikely now, but i'll keep my hopes up. maybe you're right.

>taking out his entire infrastructure via helicopter
>somehow get drugged and fall asleep to get kidnapped mid flight

asshats

>get kidnapped multiple times after ruining their shit
>always escape because I’m left unattended instead of summarily executes

>destroy all of his shit and kill all of his siblings, talk to all of my allies at our heavily fortified base
>literally walking out the door from talking to them to be informed he’s kidnapped and turned them all against me because he still holds all the cards somehow

His only real crime was being a part of the most boring and least worthwhile far cry game made. If you like using the same 2-3 guns the whole game and either streamrolling everything or being killed by bad mechanics go for it.

1 for good times, 2 for best times even though it’s flawed as fuck, 3 for decent modernization, 4 if you want what’s just a huge DLC for 3, and finally 5 if you hate yourself

Weaponized an apparently never before discovered variant of datura/jimson weed. Willing and eager to violate all moral boundaries at all times in pursuit of his goals.

Did we ever find out what/who the Voice was? Implication seemed to be that it was either literally God or otherwise some higher power or alien.

ND takes everything interesting about 5 and makes it shitty.

the guns did feel pretty bad save for a few. the flamethrower in particular was especially dissapointing, it was my favorite gun to mess around with in fc4, but fc5 punishes you really hard for using it.
>godawful range
>enemies immediately try to rush you when they're on fire
>touching your own flame for even a millisecond completely wrecks your health
however, i did like the addition of melee weapons, even if none of them were bladed and you could carry fucking 9 shovels for some reason. throwing a baseball bat at a cultist's head feels better than just shooting them

Each game since the first anyway has had some sort of socio-political flavor. I'd guess a collapsing UK or France.

how about a fictional african state in the midst of a civil war?

>Kill a bunch of people, addict a whole bunch of people to joy, create joy zombies, take over a whole county and enslave everyone
God canonically told him to do it and also the world was about to end.
it was God, people seem to forget he literally quoted the Bible verses about judgement day down to the exact millisecond a nuclear missile exploded behind him
>.....and Gods fury upon the earth
>nuke drops
>tfw

So Far Cry 2?

His only crime was being relentlessly handsome

>looks it up
>literally what i just said word for word
well how about that

If he had been less aggressive and just pushed people out of Hope County through socioeconomic pressure rather than actual mass culling/kidnapping then he would have gotten away with it. But instead, no, war crimes + crimes against humanity

Joseph Sneed

It wasn't God, it was incredibly shitty contrived writing. If it was God then He probably should've done something to prevent the player for utterly fucking all His plans.

>If it was God then He probably should've done something to prevent the player for utterly fucking all His plans.
God works in mysterious ways, user.

Is Far Cry 5 any good? Worth 15 bucks?

It's the best far cry since 2.

>Murders, steals from, tortures, brainwashes, and literally flays people, giving everybody every reason in the world to oppose and fight him
>wastes tons of concrete and rebar building a giant idol of himself
Joseph a good boy, he dindu nuffin, need mo' supplies fo' that Great Collapse

Why would God stop the player from fucking up Josephs autism when God has his own plan? Its not like he didnt plan for the cop/militia to win, if the idea was for Joseph to be like a biblical character it wouldnt be that he gets his way its that he would try and succeed in parts like how Moses got the hebrews to Israel but died just outside the promised land

Joseph Seed arrogantly adopted the mantle of the Lamb, and this led him astray, just as it led David Koresh astray.

>>get kidnapped multiple times after ruining their shit
>>always escape because I’m left unattended instead of summarily executes
What part of "they let you go" was unclear to you?

It's kinda strange how far cry 5 turned out. New dawn and the ending actually did subvert my expectations for an ending. Still haven't beat the hardest mode yet though

The setting is fantastic - music, environmental art, and so on. The story has some good elements to it, but since it's Ubisoft it's half-baked ultimately. Enjoyable but not amazing.

John's area > Jacob's area > Faith's area

Yep.

The exact nature of the Voice is kept deliberately unclear. But something worth considering is that Sages in the Assassin's Creed universe often start hearing voices and having premonitions at a young age. The terminology Seed uses to describe the coming collapse is oddly similar to the terminology the Isu use in AC: Origins.

Isu: "The Doomsday clock, tucked away in an office of the University of Chicago. Its needle moving. The node is near. Perhaps you knew. Perhaps you felt it too. That the world is closing in on you.
>Joseph Seed: "Something is coming. You can feel it, can't you? That we are creeping toward the edge… and there will be a reckoning."

I think the game steers you toward John's area first because they knew it was the only area worth a shit.

John's area was the game they promoted, the rest was filler

That's the genius of it, user. God sends Rook, who descends from the sky with a "White Horse", and they wage war upon the false Lamb. They open all seven seals. (Something only the Lamb of God, the Lion of Judah can do), and God's plan is realized. Joseph paradoxically wants to open the seals but tries to stop Rook from opening them. Faith knows more than she lets on initially, and towards the end she begins to understand who/what Rook really is. "You were the start, you'll be the end." This calls to mind, "I am the Alpha and the Omega. The First and the Last. The Beginning and the End."

IMO New Dawn should be regarded as non-canon. Like a bad final season of a TV show handled by new writers that undermines everything that came before. Far Cry 5 works perfectly as a self-contained story.

I cant gush enough about the soundtrack to far cry 5. It is so undeniably good, Dan Romer really blew his load on this game, some of the writing is weak though. I was sympathizing with Joseph until I heard the bit about his daughter when Jacob catchers you. I liked John a lot too. Jacob was the weakest for me. Faith I really have no opinion on

>people seem to forget he literally quoted the Bible verses about judgement day
the bible also says the day of judgement will come 'in the twinkling of an eye', like 'a thief in the night' and tells just not to fucking bother trying to predict it, we'll know the signs when we see them and regardless as Christians we should be living our best lives
