Live is the correct ending. If Water is the ending, then the game is just the story of a guy who never got over his wife's death, and nothing of consequence happens as a result.

The correct ending is the dog one

>the game is just the story of a guy who never got over his wife's death
That's correct.
Did you not watch Jacob's Ladder?

Absolutely. In Water is the pseudo intellectual ending. In fact, it works directly against the narrative purpose of the twin pyramids boss fight by showing that James didn't actually have to will to live.

If Mary simply died I would agree, but since James suffered her verbal abuse and sexual frustration for several years, eventually snapping and killing her, I totally disagree. The game was about James coming to terms with the resentment he felt for Mary for destroying his life and accepting his guilt. How is the live ending better when it does not show his actions having any repercussion?

>Humans aren't hypocritical.

Someone post the gifs

Yes

How did Laura even get to Silent Hill if she's just a normal little girl?

But he did get over his son's death in that one, retard.

Live is a better ending if you like happy endings. In Water if you like tragedy. Both work excellently with the entire storyline

Maria ending is best

It works contextually by making the whole thing an ingenious parable depicting a flawed man

It's also the most realistic one because really would someone like James actually come to actual terms as of what he did?

Maria ending ftw

she's not real

Why doesn't the game let you get the ritual ending on your first playthrough? Just add it as a reward for extra exploration like in SH1.

So if you like the game enough to replay it you can see the silly bonus shit instead of ending your first playthrough with a fuck ending.

nah ur a retard

All the endings are incorrect! The horror!

Does anyone have the copypasta with all the links?

She isn't real, much like the other characters James runs into.

>Did you not watch Jacob's Ladder?
i think you were the one who did not watch it, user.

Can we remake this game to not have such shit gameplay?

I think it might be because that ending doesn't have the letter reading. They probably wanted you to get leave or in water first. I liked the rebirth ending though, in some ways it feels like it's most fitting for the setting.

It would've been a lot better if they just had more mobile enemies for the outside areas like the first game.

>he want a 'modern' remake
this generation...

Every ending is correct, and that's what make SH2 such a great game. While Leave is the most hopeful ending, logically speaking, Water and Maria ending are also probable outcomes as well. The endings are determined by how the player played the game instead of doing optional side quest or choices.

>i play silent hill because of gameplay

No, I play games for GAMEPLAY because that is what a game is about...

Mount the ISOs of 2 & 3, and then run their installers like always.
DO NOT use W10's own virtual disc app! It will not work.
Don't install under C:\Program Files\ ! This will cause issues too.
The "Enhanced .EXE" is also the no-CD crack!

The SH1 is a PS1 rip that you gotta emulate using ePSXe or PCSX-R.
Follow the SH2 widescreen fix site's instructions to the teeth, and you should be fine.
For 3 & 4, check the Guide.

>Protips
-Play in the release order.
-Never play below Normal difficulty! Especially in case of #2!
-Replaying them all is recommended; tons of replay value.
-Turn down the ingame Brightness setting, for better gamma & colors!
-Don't try to kill everything that moves, especially outdoors. Leg it, or sneak!
-Turning OFF the flashlight can really help w/ stealth!

>the story of a guy who never got over his wife's death
You clearly didn't get the ending

Thanks user.
I ran out of classic Resident Evils to replay so I finally want to try out Silent Hill.

What is the actual point of "Born from a Wish"?

Maybe to show how James's mental projections are sentient. Getting you to wonder about the other people you meet.

huh?
