what games are you even playing that you need to buy the latest cpu to maximize enjoyment? maybe this is purely my observation but most graphically demanding games are pretty damn shallow. if i wanted to be impressed by the graphics, I could just watch a video of it. the only exclusion I could think of is maybe the latest mechwarrior? maybe souls games? even with how much of those games seem to be just 'learn enemy patterns and roll out of harms way'. maybe we have a severe difference in what games we enjoy but my 90$ thinkpad, with an intel cpu mind you, plays most of the games and media I want. I never understood people spending thousands of dollars for gaming computers when you could spend it on improving your living space or even investing.
