Well, I'm fucking done with PlayStation after all this shit and I think I'm ready to finally build a pc thread. Let's have a general PC buildan thread. What's the absolute best I can get for $700USD?

...

came here to post this

please dont start a flamewar i just waant a comfy PC thread.
that thread is always slow plus i wanna talk with Zig Forumsros. are you guys upgrading your rigs for next gen? isn't RTX 3000 coming this year?

Consoomer Tier:
Just buy a prebuilt

Smart consoomer Tier:
put together a Ryzen5 3600 / RX 580 mid-range custom pc

Genius tier:
Buy a used i5/i7-anything pc or 1st gen ryzen machine off of craigslist for no more than $200, then slap in additional ram, an ssd, and a RX580.
typing from my Ryzen5 1600, RX580, 16GB machine that I only paid $280 for in full after ram upgrade

>are you guys upgrading your rigs for next gen?
probably not. im not worried even slightly about being underpowered because consolefags push the same shit every year about how their consoles will blow PC out of the water and it always ends up not true.
i will be rocking my GTX 1060 6GB until it fucking dies

>1060 6GB
how is it holding up? i upgraded to 2060 right before they announced the super like a retard. but now i get to experience 1440p144hz and its great

Wait 6 months, buy Ryzen 4700X and RTX 3060. You are welcome.

>building a pc when new consoles are being released

Are those going to overpower the new consoles you think? Not that I really care about that but just in case I need to brute force some shitty ports next gen

Just go to pc part picker.com because you will never get a straight answer on Zig Forums or forums since building a machine is broad. What might work for some games won't work for other, then might work with emulation or might not, etc... Just try to keep parts same companies if possible, work on cable management, and ensure a good airflow.

get a prebuilt building is too risky

>the downpayment for a 10k$pc that you will pay in 10years and will become obsole in 6months

I can see the fat bearded retard with the hot sauce collection who built this in my head perfectly.

>geniurs reddit tier:
Use bins deliver to locker get a i9 x299 128gbram 2x rtx2080ti
FOR FREE

>just wait bro
It doesn't matter if new consoles are coming out, or a ram shortage is going on, or bitcoin's rising price causes mass gpu shortage. This phrase is always a fucking meme regardless of how close or far new shit is coming out

Yep... Big hipster glasses, some IPAs in the fridge, an ugly asian wife and a big bushy, patchy beard. Manbun optional

who the fuck is spending 10k on a pc 2 paychecks will get you a good pc nowadays.

nzxt.com/

just got one of these

what

4700X should surpass 9900K, meaning that we get groundbreaking speeds in a long time. Ryzen 3000 merely caught up with Intel.

As for RTX 3060, based on the recent leaks it should outperform 2080 Ti with ray tracing on, making Turing look shitty in comparison.

Old Windows 7 PC
AMD Sempron 140 Processor
3GB RAM
500GB Hard Drive
NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE

Is this even worth trying to upgrade? Or should I just get a whole new PC?

RTX is a fucking meme. Don't worry about that shit unless you're one of those console dirtpoors that want 30FPS because MUH GOD RAYS!!!!!!!!

Not him, but mine is going strong after 4 years still at 1080p. If you're a budget person like OP, 1080p will be fine for a good long while on budget cards.

Yes, just wait.

Fuck bro, even a 7th gen console would be an upgrade at this point

>60 series card surpassing a fucking 2080 Ti
Are you shilling or just stupid?

IS RAZOR BLADE 15 A GOOD LAPTOP TO BUY?

>gayman laptop
Enjoy your underpowered overpriced piece of shit that'll be obselete in 2 months

you could find a better computer off of the street during your neighborhood's electronic recycling day.

PcPartPicker builds might give you better answers than Zig Forums. My suggestion is spec out a nice Ryzen 3600 build (look for a MoBo/Ram bundles on clearance bc of new gen), make sure you have an SSD for boot and HDD for games and a decent case/air cooler.

As for GPU your best value is AMD but go used NVIDIA if you don't wanna risk the shit drivers (5700 owner). Also look at VRAM too because I'd much rather have the 5700 with 8GB sans RTX than the 2060 with 6GB and RTX for the same price (driver autism aside).

You do realize that playing without ray tracing in like 2022 will make the games look like you were trying to play Half-Life 2 on a Voodoo 3 card? Have fun looking at bright as fuck corridors in games with obvious lack of care for the environments when devs start to focus more and more on RT on by default.

Is 16GB RAM enough for next gen or should I go for 32GB meme?
