at the beginning he was big headed and acted like an asshole. but he was friendly to children, had a sense of humour, was not too "cool" to act interested in women and was a lot more human rather than acting like shadow the hedgehog.

Midgar Cloud was more or less this way. But he does still joke around. Which was what i really appreciated in the remake. There were a lot of scenes with Cloud making funnies. Like trying to hi five Aerith, or making the 21 years old joke with Barret.
