Why aren't there many pirate games?
Only thing I can think of that was good was Black Flag.

The skull and bones need to be basedjacks as well
Only (major) reason I plan to buy a decent PC is so I can play Sea of Thieves. I love pirate games but literally all I can name are Black Flag, Sea of Thieves, and Ubisoft's upcoming Skull and Bones which is 100% naval combat from what they've stated, so you don't play as pirates, you're the boat
sea of thieves has a really good basis but the lack of feeling of progression makes it feel empty
The ship combat is alright in Sea of Thieves, a bit bare-bones but decent. The rest of the game though.....
Everyone finds wojaks overused, obnoxious, autistic, ect. I always get a chuckle out of them. Sometimes I'll open up my wojak folder just to look at them and laugh at their silly faces.
I get what sea ot thieves was going for, focusing on the raw adventure of travelling the seas, managing a boat, finding treasure and doing PVP battles, but yeah once you've played about a week or so it's hard for some people to keep into it. I dont exactly know how much deeper you can go with making the game deeper, but it would be kind of nice to have a mode where all the armor, weapons and boat parts have stats and overall effects. Or even a skill tree depending on what factions you get higher with. I feel if they kept the main game with everything being purely cosmetic, and then added versions with deeper mechanics it would greatly increase the games depth and interest
Because pirates suck.
Wind Waker. You can bitch about the map all you want but it definitely delivered the "life at sea" experience.
Pirates! Gold
X-Piratez
Uncharted Waters II: New Horizons
Star Traders: Frontiers
Silent Hunter III (fuck you, I'm counting it)
Space Rangers HD: A War Apart
Elite: Dangerous
X3 series
I think Distant Worlds: Universe lets you play a pirate faction.
Some of them are space pirates, but whatever. It's the same thing.
I unironically think they're creative
I mean why did OP go out of his way to edit these 3 specific soijaks into a pirate setting? who knows
why where they also drawn as a barbershop quartet even though there are only 3? who knows
why did people bother to make these 3 specific soijak drawings from scratch (except for markipliers' eyes) when so many other edits exist? who knows
but OP could've just picked a reaction image or that k.rool scene from the donkey kong tv show for the billionth time because that's more original apparently
That could be interesting, but it seems hard to do with the current game mechanics. Maybe if they did an offline co-op story mode that could work, but the game is so much geared around the online pvp adventure that adding skill trees would break the core concept of skill and teamwork. Plus that'd be basically building a whole new game which they'd probably want to charge for if it's to be any good.
But I totally get where you're coming from. I built my pirate in 2018 and only just changed him to have the Ashen curse show better. I have sunk many all nighters into good crews but right now theres nothing bringing me back to the game outside of the itch to sail and maybe grinding up to PL and getting to buy into the Athenas grind.

Been going at it for 2 years. If a game clicks, it clicks. It's fun to play, I think people have become too enthralled to the idea of character stats and weapon upgrades.
It's not really needed, and this means that if you and I cross paths in the game, we do so on equal terms in terms of the tools made available to us. You have a fighting chance, my experience and confidence being what adds to the variable.
Blackwake (team deathmatch FPS, 3 boats worth of crew vs 3 boats)
Pixel Piracy
Sea of Thieves (a shittier Blackwake clone with Open world slapped on)
Puzzle Pirates
Sid Meier's Pirates!
Curse of Monkey Island series
We're a band of vicious pirates!

How would you implement a slave trade and pwning indigenous tribes in the current day and age?

What if we combined dinosaurs and pirates in the same world?
Blackwake was fun when it was just about ship battles, the moment they added island bases it turned into a twitch shooter and I've been getting dabbed on in every game since. I haven't played it since last year.
Make a mod for Open X-Com or use GameMaker Studio to make an Uncharted Waters II ripoff.
My friend explained this design philosophy a week ago when we were playing. He loves the fact that progression is tied to cosmetics only, and the experienced gained playing and learning the game is the advantage. Literally the exact design choice made in games decades ago before the corporate jew stuck it's nose too far.
dunno man
In "Caribbeans"? Aren't islands would be too small for such massive creatures? Sounds interesting btw.
What about that game Ubisoft make that was just the pirate parts of Black Flag? Was it good or is Black Flag still better
