This man's rise and fall was one of the funniest things ever. Do you think he'll kill himself if L5 fires him?

I have the wii u copy of this game sealed still

WiiU version runs at single digit fps at times and will freeze your entire console. Only a hard reboot will fix it. It's one of the worst ports ever.

why did l5 even bother with him? he's as toxic an asset as it gets. MN9 was the biggest, wettest, most sulfuric brap of our generation

He got bailed out by a friend to save face and they got a cheap production studio out of it. Inafune got connections and friends everywhere.

>toxic

Obviously big ego, but he's not that bad! He's just had 11 years of nothing but flops. Next year's the charm!

I wonder how their friendship is going after Inafune's mobile game flopped horrendously.

Most of the other old Capcom guys just peacefully faded off into obscurity, but this guy had too much of an ego I guess.

Level 5 as a whole has been nothing but flops and terrible management lately so Inafune was just a logical addition.

I never seen someone fuck himself so much like him. He flew way too close to the sun.

I hope he gets to put out another VN. Sweet Fuse was pretty alright.

This man was supposed to be the savior of Japan. He was chosen by himself to be the chosen one.

And the funniest thing about MN9 is that afterwards, Inti Creates essentially told him to fuck off. And then they proceeded to make an infinitely better version of MN9 out of what I can only assume to be spite.

Imagine if he stopped after being done with Megaman Zero, it really didn't had to end up like this.

The Mega Man Zero series is his magnum opus. That's where Mega Man peaked. And then it all went down hill for him after that.

He did MMZ? I like the series but the ELF system is utter garbage and could have been handled better. Playing MMZ3 I don't know half the time if the Fusion elves are permanent or temporary. Some of the descriptions are obvious others not

>capcom royally fucks up while handling megaman
>this guy sees it as an awesome chance to make bank
>makes megaman clone (falsely) advertised as by the creator of megaman
okay this is fair enough...
>we need to develop on every platform simultaneously, no matter how outdated!
uh....
>we need to make modes nobody will play, oh no they're buggy messes across all platforms and it's going to take a lot of time, money and manpower to fix them all!
stahp
>WE NEED ACTION FIGURES, WE NEED A CARTOON, WE NEED A BROADWAY PLAY
oh no no no no
>fucks up handling the money and retreats away from the public eye into "idea guy: the company"
>people making the game have to bust their asses and apologize to customers for delays and raped expectations
>inti then goes on to make games feat. beck that are each better than his own game
>MN9 is not only a piece of shit but often held up as THE example of getting fucked over by Kickstarter
>this is Inafune's legacy now, effectively overwriting his days at Capcom
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

So what was the final stretch goal?

probably something equally retarded and unrealistic as many of the precious ones like "Super Nintendo Port"

So do you think he was the one who decided it was a good idea to insult the core audience in the launch trailer or was that some other marketing dickhead

That was all on the publisher. The game's producer was livid about it.

Deep Silver fucked up. iirc someone at Comcept was really pissed off at that ad.

Never let the art guy become a game dev.

LIKE

The best part of all this shit was how it exposed just how much of a fucking bandwagon fanbase the Mega Man series has. Nobody backing it or reporting on it had any idea who this fucking guy even was beyond the bullshit "father of Mega Man" sales pitch.

mgb is bland as fuck

the only thing going for it is MN9's sountrack.

How do you know they were pissed?

twitter.com/t_aizu/status/735652527450947584

Remember when 90's cartoons used to make fun of their overly-critical fans? They tried to something like that, but unfortunately they didn't have the product to back it up.

Whatsherface that designed bayonetta seemed to be the defacto director on ghostwire Tokyo, wonder if that was going to turn into another example of this if she hadn't left the studio.

he's great man, i'm really happy he taught many retards that crowdfunding is bad idea yea i know there are some exceptions from the rule but these games are very rare

The fan art it gave us aged like fine wine.

I admit I feel bad for Inafune, but as someone who didn't put any money at all into MN9, the entire saga was so damn hilarious that I felt I was essentially getting a free game. The delays were just "eh, whatever," but every single fuckup after that, ranging from Masterclass, then [AD-LIB MOANING IN PAIN], then bricking consoles, then the shitty rap at the credits, was just absolute comedy gold.

Kinda sad Inti Creates bit off more than they could chew with MN9 (Bloodstained too) since it could've been their chance to make it big post-MMZ/MM9, but it's probably better this way. Their own stuff is still great more often than not.

Megamanchildren throwing shit at their series' most influential name is pretty damn funny yeah, exposed how retarded the fanbase is.

As soon as it looked like the follow up to Mega Man, a budget as fuck series that was always budget as fuck, revealed itself to be budget as fuck, you throw a guy credited for working on the games you love under the bus.

Suddenly now that MN9 was below your expectations everything he did is bad. Zero? Oh, he's always been trash because Inafune the con man made him. Forget everyone saying they prefer him in MMX4 for decades. Mega Man Zero also sucks because Inafune made him! It was always all bad because muh con man.

>Bloodstained
the switch port really fucked up its update schedule

>Sasquatch
FUCK

"Make a good game"

You know what actually hurt Mighty Number 9 for me? Hearing that you don't shoot enemies to destroy them, but rather you have to shoot them and then dash into them to actually destroy them. What an awful mechanic. One that needlessly complicates playing what should be a simple game where you shoot stuff like Megaman or Contra because it's 2D.

The real fuck ups are the fans who bought into this shit. You're all FUCK CAPCOM, INAFUNE WILL SAVE US! Then he screws you just as hard and you all start singing CAPCOM REDEMPTION ARC because they made a couple of NOT SHIT games. Not GOOD games, just NOT SHIT. It'd be sad if it wasn't so damn funny.

where is red ash

No. He's a cockroach. He'll hang onto the very bottom of society as long as he can, because to the wicked, self-preservation is all that matters. The absolute gall this man has after the fucking fiasco he brought over Capcom, and not even an apology for anything relating to Mighty No. 9. Pathetic.

The Red Ash kickstater was probably the biggest slap in the face. I'm glad that shit didn't get crowdfunded beyond the animated short.

Not what I meant, Inti Creates was originally developing Ritual of the Night but they obviously can't into 3D so Igarashi took them off of it and had them develop Curse of the Moon instead. He landed on Artplay for the main game which ended up not being much better, they're responsible for the Switch version's issues too.
