>yeah let's just make the main antagonist an auto-instakill if you get seen
The working joes are great, and actually scary, but the alien is just a pain in the ass and pretty much guarantees you'll be replaying certain parts over and over on your first play-through. Also he looks goofy as hell stomping around like that.
Yeah, you have a flamethrower that saves you from the Alien, retard.
And no, nothing else can save you from a perfect life form. If you want to use guns against the aliens then play another game.
Lincoln Butler
I only remember dying a handful of times before I got the flamethrower, and saves are frequent enough that you shouldn't lose much progress. And after you get the flamethrower you can just make it fuck off if you're bad enough to get spotted. Try not being shit at the game.

>If you want to use guns against the aliens then play another game. cant wait for Aliens Isolation.
Evan Mitchell
I played through on hard mode my first time and didn’t have too much trouble as long as I kept a low profile and when I was fighting something, I made sure to leave the area quickly. I also crouched walked a lot. It was fun enough for me so I don’t know what you want. There’s a few weapons and gadgets they give you to wars off the alien. Just switch up what you use every now and then so that it won’t adapt.
Zachary Brown
Does anyone know how much harder nightmare is compared to hard? I always like to choose the hardest difficulty in games, but I don't play many horror games because I get scared easily and I'm afraid it will just be more frustrating than fun.

>GAME OVER MAN, GAME OVER
Nicholas Brooks
>Also he looks goofy as hell stomping around like that Really grasping at straws here. Like a kid in a playground throwing weak insults with teary eyes after their bully dabbed on them.
Angel Allen
>perfect life form. >cant speak >needs other lifeform to get born >afraid of fire >is fucking ugly >does nothing but terrorize others for no good reason WOW
Jose Flores
I've played on Normal and Hard and Normal is already pretty difficult, so I'd say go for Hard as it's what the developers intended.
>>cant speak useless >>needs other lifeform to get born not since Alien 4 >>afraid of fire self preservation is a bad thing? >>is fucking ugly who cares? >>does nothing but terrorize others for no good reason it just clean the place to protect the queen. It doesn't terrorize
Caleb Adams
I died four times to the alien through the whole game my first play through. Twice were at the very last section and once walking under a dripping vent after it starts hunting you towards the start. Joe got me once. I very rarely used my items on the alien unless I absolutely had to so they were always highly effective. I'd never sprint unless I knew i was safe or I had to break line of sight with something and always make sure to keep moving. Took me 14 hours my first go.
I'm pretty sure the alien has some sort of skill upgrade tree based on what others have said and gives less of a shit as you use items or repeatedly hide in the same places or something.
Alexander Allen
sorry only watched the first movie, the others arent canon in my head. also why self preservation? fire doesnt harm it so being afraid of fire is stupid
Kevin Nguyen
The only thing nightmare really does is fuzzy static on motion tracker and less items.
I never understood how xenomorphs could be bulletproof. What kind of magic ultra durable exoskeleton could allow it to be be so incredibly thin but also immune to firearms and lightweight enough to allow the Xenomorph to be extremely agile.
Aaron Thompson
You ever try an squish a roly-poly? Imagine that but scaled up by a magnitude of 1000x
Josiah Sullivan
If we imagine that their body is mostly just a mechanical ends-to-means rather than housing vital organs and arteries, it doesn't even matter much if they weren't bulletproof. Their natural lifespan might be incredibly short when they're not hibernating, like ants. Alternatively, they don't have any organs, with their vital functions distributed evenly across the body. On top of having no fear and acting like an insect, killing something like that would be insanely hard. Even without a tough chitin.
How they function is a mystery of course. Surely they need energy to move like everything else, but how is it obtained, stored and used?
Jayden Anderson
>run away and go in a vent >dumb robot fag can't do shit
the energy thing was semi-cover in the colonial marine tech manual where weyland science techs think their acid blood causes some sorta chemical reaction with other things inside their bodies like a battery and they may not need much or any food to actually function at a basic level. They do have organs or glands of various types and the expanded universe goes into that stuff more.
Jackson Hughes
The game got better when I realized that moving at a moderate pace was a better tactic than sneaking slowly and lose all progress in case of fucking up, or in case of the alien randomly coming down from a vent.
Gavin Hall
This. The big reveal after you do the thing to the Alien is way to obvious and takes way too long to play out

The Marines get a full as whooping in the second movie, I don't know what you're talking about. Even with the best equipment, those fuckers are smarter, faster and tougher.
100% my experience too. I was toooo slow and calculated try to play it like a stealth game with set patrol patterns. Just simply walking 95% of the time and avoiding bumping into shit works extremely well even on hard. I also played my first run at launch before the 1.02 patch i think it was that fixed the alien being super rubberbanded to the player and doing gamebreaking checks on the same room multiple times in a very short timespan. This was on pc. No idea if that bug was on console.

The fastest speedrun is around 3 hours, and that’s on novice. The fastest run on nightmare is 5 hours long
Oliver Sullivan
I'm really mad they didn't resurrect egg morphing as a way of explaining the multiple aliens. It would've added mystery to the mythos, been elegant, and a tribute to the details of the first film
to be a little fair those marines had a lot of their ammo taken from them by a newbie commander who was put in place by burke on behalf of the company. i don't argue that they would still have suffered going into the hive even with all their pulse rifles full but certainly things would have turned out better for the marines to an extent. the operations battle has the few remaining marines take out quite a few before they are overrun.
