He will chug down an entire bucket of ice cream on the same day he buys it because "If I leave it out it will go bad/old and I don't like throwing away food". I don't get what's so hard about it. You give it food only at certain points of the day, just the amount it needs, and nothing else. The end. If it plays a lot, give it a bit of extra. If it doesn't move at all, give it less. It's not rocket science.
