In just six days Lost Planet 2 will be 10 years old, to celebrate there's going to be a pvp event on PC this Saturday starting from 12 PM PDT / 8 PM BST and probably something more next week for the actual release dates (May 11/13).
In the past few months the game has seen an upsurge in activity, both in coop and pvp with sessions being organized almost weekly and with the Steam sale going on it's a great time to join for both new and returning players.
Let's show Capcom that there's still interest in this series!
I believe EXT's sales would have only led to more spinoffs - although it was meant as a introduction to the genre it was still aimed at a younger userbase.
LP2 not hitting sales goal and subesquently LP3 getting outsourced is what led to the series' demise.

Does it give you some error in particular? Most common ones are passwords not being recognized or GFWL being stuck on download, which is just a matter of waiting 10-15 minutes
Is that from the gfwl marketplace thing? If so you don't need to open it, just by launching the game it should ask for your login informations and then try to download the profile, no need for any other gfwl interactions.
Yeah with the service being taken down and everything most stuff around it isn't used anymore, it's just a glorified DRM with the only upsides being Colonies crossplay and Xbox friend list interaction.
I fucking loved the first game but never played the second. Is it a good idea to pick it up for the single payer campaign? I just want to shoot with some robots.
Personally I find the first's campaign to be better. 2 has some really cool sections but the human/akrid ratio is unbalanced in favor of the former and AI can annoying if you don't play coop.
Overall the gameplay is a more refined version of 1 so you'll surely enjoy it.

Thanks. I played the first campaign a bit too extensively. I wonder if I could still finish the game under an hour.
