>trading IPs

Yeah game companies trade IPs for currency all the time

>Second Sight and Risen

looks like THQ got the better end of the deal

Cock Media

>Singles: Flirt Up Your Life
>for Painkiller and Red Faction
THQ is full of retards now, isn't it

>Sacred and Second sight
fucking sick
>For red faction
OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

does it mean we will get a new singles game ?

This is really weird, but it's great to see Second Sight back on the table.
With Timesplitters cropping up again, I have vague hopes of seeing a Free Radical renaissance.

But Koch itself isn't a studio, are they? Who are they going to hand those titles to? that's REALLY important.

>Singles: Flirt Up Your Life
THQ chads fucking won

this is just an internal restructuring

both THQ Nordic and Koch Media belong to the same group (Embracer)

Interested to see what THQ does with risen and sacred.

>there will never be another red faction game again

I didn't know Koch actually owned any IP. Aren't they just publishers?

>giving painkiller away
these retards
what a flying fuck

>uses pokemon and gameboy as props
>doesn't make games for nintendo
???

>now THQ has both Gothic and Risen

>uh? IP is evolving
>*tututuuu tutututututu
>you IP evolved to AAA shit!

Painkiller without People Can Fly wouldn't be worth a damn anyway.

>Second Sight
nice
>losing Red Faction
not nice

They make more money off the publicity of something wild like an IP trade than they were ever going to make off those franchises themselves

This is literally just Deep Silver and THQN swapping IPs. DS are doing TimeSplitters. Now THQN is handling Second Sight. Red Faction Evolution has moved over to DS. Most likely it has become a bigger budget affair and thus is better suited to DS.

Well that takes some of the magic out of it

Koch publish some multiplats in europe, like Disgaea and SNK heroines

Test

Koch are just a parent of Deep Silver. They're interchangeable.

Metro, Saints Row, Homefront, Dead Island, TimeSplitters, Kingdom Come, etc are Koch/DS.

THQ Nordic has Piranha Bytes under their wings now so I guess that explains Risen. Although Piranha Bytes will be working on more Elex for the foreseeable future I guess so I guess it won‘t be immediately relevant.

Painkiller and Red Faction are effectively dead franchises and shooters are an oversaturated market while sim games are on the rise again thanks to AC. It's not a bad trade since it's clear Nordic has no idea what to do with Painkiller and RF anymore.

Painkiller WITH People Can Fly wasn't worth a damn anyways.

Why are people mad?

Is one of the companies in question bad and they'd do awful job with the IPs or what?

CEOs played poker with their properties.

The deal was worth just for having the rights to Risen and PB on board, the other shit is just a plus.
Maybe they'll perform a "Coming back to the roots" with Sacred

None of those games or companies are AAA though
