Ya seethe?

it's yet another game that the fandom hyped up so much that everyone who played it after the launch month will be guaranteed disappointment

you literally had to play UT as soon as it came out to really enjoy it

I played it recently. It was still enjoyable

maybe so but i enjoyed it

It has excellent shotas.

its entertaining the first time around but it gets boring on repeat playthroughs
deltarune is better desu

What is horrible writing
I played Undertale and hated it because it's just not my thing but what the fuck do you retards classify as "bad writing"? Words on the screen i don't like?

next you are going to tell me the characters are tumblr, the combat is reddit and the story is SJW

Deltarune looks kinda meh, Undertale was a neat little package and didn't try to be anything more than that.

Eh Deltarune is more of a VN than a game. There's loads of dialogue scenes that follow cutscenes and the level design outside of the dungeon is basically a straight line.

Not horrible, but cringe.

It does.
I dropped the game in the long walkway section where the scientist bitch kept interrupting me with her cringeworthy monologues.
Holy fucking shit, it might have been one of the worst pieces of writing I have ever seen in vidya.

you have no imagination

When you voice your opinion you're supposed to give at least one example along with it, you fucking
imbecile

This is true. Most of the enjoyment comes from the metq aspects and the various surprises in the plot. Playing through it blind for the first time is amazing, but after that it's much less exciting. Can't wait to see how Deltarune turns out.

It's still fun

continuous seething

This ""game"" has horrible everything bar some designs and soundtrack, which is not surprising as only disaster may happen when a shitty musician obsessed with Mother series tries to make his own takes on it. His hack was dogshit, his games are dogshit and they would always be dogshit, stick to writing music Toby, get good at least at something.

when i saw this game, i was kinna expecting it to feel like EB.

it didn't feel like EB

Naw, it was average. Considering one guy made everything, I think its passable, especially with the quality of the soundtrack and gameplay.

still better than d*sco elysium

What even is that game? I never heard of it until the VGAs and it won like 15 awards

An actual walking simulator.
I would say it's like Planescape Torment without gameplay but that would be an insult to P:T.

It's decent writing in terms of characters the player can get to know, and a story that generally follows from beginning to end. There are themes Toby has and explores throughout the game.

I think some people say the writing is bad if they can't get into the jokes and the almost "meme-like" approach to how the characters talk and are presented. (le funny faces, bad puns, annoying quirks, straight references to anime, etc.)

For me, the real bad part of the writing comes when you start to question the game's themes. The game's "let's blame the player" attitude is totally black and white, and wholly immature in its approach. Remember all those sperg fans who would cry foul when anyone "played the game wrong," despite Genocide being a route that Toby intentionally included into the game? They don't exist in a vacuum. They were/are enabled by Undertale's self-righteous approach to its moral question. If you really pay attention to every line in the game, by playing it fully (both routes, talk to every character you can talk to) the game constantly backtracks on itself, meaning it's not even able to commit to its own message.

LISA has better writting than this piece of garbage

how? keep seething

a best written visual novel -cum- crpg ever, according to its fans

>its own message.
I think this is where people fuck up. There isn't a "message." There is a story. The game isn't trying to teach you anything. It simply let's you deal with problems in multiple ways and the NPCs reacting accordingly. There are meta elements that make the statements that are directed at the character seem as though they are directed at the player. This is purposeful, but to think the game is trying to literally say you are a bad person for killing fictional characters is reading too much into it. It's supposed to be quirky and catch you off guard, not judge you.

honestly the game loses it's charm if you play a route more than once.
PACIFIST/NEUTRAL:
>the ruins are a boring unskippable tutorial
>snowdin is okay
>waterfall just seems to drag on
>hotland has alphys constantly annoying you
>the core is okay
>new home is just a stroll
>asgore is okay
>omega flowey is kino
>asriel is a fucking joke
GENOCIDE:
>ruins is meh
>snowdin gets boring
>waterfall gets boring
>undyne is a nice fight
>hotland/core is where it gets really boring
>stop kicking my ass

I played Neutral and then Genocide. Never bothered with Pacifist.
Call me a faggot if you have to, but killing Papyrus genuinely made me feel like shit. In my opinion, a game that gets me to care about even one of its characters to that extent doesn't bad "bad" writing. I also thought a fair amount of the jokes were funny, but Alphys wasn't one of them.
Overall, it was a fun game to play through twice and then never again.

What the actual fuck?

>I was raped.

>What happened?

>It's already done you sick fuck. Did you want something else by the way?

It's as if they wrote something else and just strapped an abortion on top of it.

>>asriel is a fucking joke
This is honestly my favorite fight. Even though it's all corny stuff to try and tug at your emotions, it totally worked on me.
>it is the end
>but it refused
>maybe there's something else you can save
>there's still one more person left to save
>realizing he's still just a kid mentally who is just lonely
>the fucking music
I loved every second of it

>it's not supposed to judge you
>game literally has a chamber of judgement where it's revealed "exp" stands for execution points and "lv" stands for "level of violence."

Are you retarded, user?
