There's no good board for this topic, so since the TLoU2 is the freshest in everyone's minds I thought I'd throw this up on Zig Forums.
Also, what are your thoughts on this difficult to describe "trend" of terrible writing compromising iconic or groundbreaking franchises? Are there any vidya series you're worried about? >SJWs I'm with you 100%, but not every post has to say the same thing over and over again.
Star Wars since it was actually good at one point.
Hudson Jenkins
None of them.
>There are only two good Star Wars films Empire and TLJ > Rise of Skywalker pissed me off the worst and is the worst Star Wars movie since The Phantom Menace yet isn't on the list because reasons... >Season 8 was rushed but, who cares i have the books
Ian Lewis
This. I didn't give a fuck about TLOU 1 so watching the sequel burn is just hilarious. Game of Thrones was always medieval soap opera except for the one good action-oriented episode per season.
Lincoln Sanders
Oh yeah and TLOU was never good
Chase Martin
soon as class ended, i went to the mall and bought myself a ticket for TLJ on opening day. while watching, i wondered when they'd stop wisecracking, but the scene with Hamill milking that animal pretty much confirmed to me that i was gonna regret the next few hours i'll be spending in that theater.
i don't know enough about the other two since i don't and have never cared for either.
who are you quoting?
Leo Long
Mass effect 3 you idiot
Zachary Robinson
GoT after season 6.
Nu wars is basically fan fiction imo. The actual star wars ended with the prequels. The new shit isnt part of the actual wars universe Im not a sony fag so idc about the game
Dominic Adams
Women are creatively bankrupt.
Joshua Brown
Star Ward I guess, I was never invested on TLOU and GOT plots or characters as much as the Skywalkers, I still think they got an undeserved mess, especially TLOU2, not even Season 8 of GOT dared to shit so much on their fandom
Nathan Scott
Star Wars hasn't had a good movie since Episode VI and TFA was a colossal rehash that reset all progress made by the heroes and fucked up Finn's arc by having him cheer while killing his former comrades on the escape so TLJ fucking up Poe horribly by ignoring his prior characterization, giving Luke a dogshit role, and shunting Finn off on a boring side-mission to expound on shit he should already know didn't affect me at all.
TLOU 2 isn't out yet and I'm willing to give it a chance but my hopes are low unless 3 lets us play Ellie again and give her a satisfying conclusion.
GOT had been on a slide for half its runtime but fuck I still got steamed over Jaime's arc in it and the dogshit ending so that one wins I guess
Nathan Flores
Star wars, never got in to the other 2
Cooper Anderson
Force awakens was a good movie. Last jedi had a bad story but beautiful cinematography. Rise of skywalker was just awful.
What pisses me off is that people continue to tolerate this shit. What little faith I had in Humanity, died a long time ago. If God had mercy, he'd kill us all right now.
Jeremiah Kelly
>TLJ >good in my new America, automatic euthanasia for expressing this opinion.
Jace Parker
TLJ easily.
Dylan Wilson
got, never watched nu-wars or played the soi of us
Jaxon Young
None. I stopped watching Star Wars movies after 7, I didn't care about TLoU at all and I never watched GoT past the first season. It's like I have a shit detector that lets me know things are gonna be awful.
Henry Brown
This for me
Henry Adams
GoT>SW>TLoU Star Wars had a good self contained trilogy so you can ignore the pure shit that came afterwards TLoU also had a good game with a ending that needed no follow-up GoT is a sliding scale of great to absolute garbage thanks to the writers having no talent, which was obvious after they ran out of source material
Why are people so mad that their favorite characters get killed in fiction? Then they try and perform some mental gymnastics and justify it in their head that the series that they enjoyed up to that point was shit all along.
TLJ. All-around terribly written story. I was actually fine with Luke being disillusioned, Rey being a nobody, the love story with Kylo. But the entire runtime is wasted on meaningless errands. The whole trope of "SUBVERTING EXPECTATIONS" shits itself when it follows ESB beat by beat. Gaping plot holes all over the place. But if you tried to criticize it, you were a nazi incel woman hating loser. That franchise deserves death
Owen Kelly
None I never watched any of these shit
James Jenkins
TLJ just left me confused.
Daniel Kelly
Same
John Davis
> I stopped caring about Star Wars a long time ago. Still, it kinda annoyed me when I heard what happened in Last Jedi > Honestly don't give a fuck about the leaks. I'm gonna play the game anyway and form my opinion on the story then. > Never cared about GoT.
So Star Wars I guess.
Christian Fisher
>Also, what are your thoughts on this difficult to describe "trend" of terrible writing compromising iconic or groundbreaking franchises? They're hiring incompetent writers and compromising their scripts with diversity quotas and forced politics. Then, they hide away from criticism because "the fanbase is toxic". This is why they stagnate. This is why they suck.
Carson Morgan
AT least TLJ didn't make it's already shitty hero evil, make you sympathize with her because she was evil to pander to anarchistards, then horrifically brutalize Luke to death. Haven't seen GoT8.
Robert Carter
Nu Star Wars has good characters but bad narrative - meh who cares. TLoU2 - literally who cares you guys are crying about this for the sake of crying. GoT - early seasons are the best, was always going to fail to live up to the hype after they went past Martin’s writing. Only a dumbass would have been satisfied by any ending here,
Any questions?
Juan Foster
I don't care for any of that pleb normieshit so joke's on you OP. I'm just here for the lulz.
If they know how and why it sucks and people don't like it then why do they keep doing it? Easy to point fingers at the symptoms without saying what the root cause is.
William White
Imagine liking any of this normalfag trash, this board is beyond saving
Jaxson Rivera
Nigga, these type of people are so full of themselves they'll never admit that they fucked up. They probably never had to take any responsibility in their lives so they're not going to now.
James Roberts
No one expected a post-Lucas Star Wars franchise to actually have the SOUL of the originals or prequels. It was an obvious cash grab, and true fans of the universe simply shrug it off as the non-canon fan fiction that it is. The story of episodes 1-6 was a complete and structurally sound experience that the sequels ret-conned, but it was expected and you can still enjoy the originals in a vaccum.
The Last of Us is the same thing. The first game was a complete journey that didn't need a sequel, so if a shitty sequel was pushed out as a cash grab, one could still simply ignore it and enjoy the untarnished original in a vacuum.
Game of Thrones Seasons 1-4 was GOAT television that was actually gearing to rival the Lord of the Rings as a fully fleshed-out fantasy world with intellectual value. It was the single biggest cultural phenomenon to come out of television since Johnny Carson. They had us convinced the story was going somewhere profound and original. The second they got out ahead of GRRM's writing, it turned into a dumpster fire and they completely invalidated the value of the original seasons because the whole point of GOT was that it was building up to something cathartic. Knowing we'll never get that moment means that Seasons 1-4 actively reduce in value.
>Implying I gave a shit about GoT or (((tLoU))) and Star Wars has been a disappoinment for decades so the only emotion I had when I heard the new trilogy was a dumpsterfire ws an apathetic sigh
Never cared about GoT or TLOU to begin with and I had already tuned out of Star Wars after TFA came out and was awful. So the answer is still Mass Effect 3.
All of those series were always shit, it’s sad it takes literal trannies, monkey girls killing ice zombies and “subversion” for the fanboys to realize it
Juan Sanders
Game of thrones was the most disappointing it was great for first 4 seasons whereas star wars was always shit and last of us was just another generic video game.
Alexander Taylor
don't care about star wars don't care about sony movie games don't care about GoT
>Tfw not a SW fan, not a GoT fan, and not a TLoU fan
Carson Ramirez
TLJ - it's the best of the new trilogy. Still not a good movie, but better than TFA.
TLoU2 - meh, I like the twist. Joel deserved it.
GoT - never watched and don't care.
People crying about these are more annoying than the actual products. I hate modern Internet culture.
Kayden White
No questions. Great perspective, user.
Tyler Price
nu wars was garbage since the first movie, and it's unrelated with the actual star wars TLoU was never good to begin with GoT is the only one of the three that started great and gradually turned in into utter watchable garbage.
Grayson Garcia
None of them because I dont watch garbage
Samuel Murphy
I used to think it was progressive marxist ideology but now im not actually sure.
Our media binge culture is very different from the old days of renting games and movies at blockbuster, we consume more and more and it's the exact same hollywood LA elitists making the same kinds of movies and games that they used to make.
Juan Sullivan
Never watched GOT or played Last of Us, so Star Wars by default.
star wars nerds explain this to me: the empire was practically nuked at the end of VI so how could it come back even stronger?
Ryan Foster
>TLJ Didn't care. >GOT Stopped watching after S2 because it was an obviously aimless piece of shit; or, didn't care. >TLOU2 Not impressed, also not surprised. >no multiplayer Kinda salty not gonna lie.
Daniel Barnes
and now you understand why the sequel trilogy is shit
Jordan Johnson
Definitely GoT when they just stopped trying
Jose Taylor
>NOOOO YOU CANT KILL LUKE!!! >NOOOO YOU CANT KILL JOEL >NOOOOO NOT MY SLAVE FREEING RAPER BANGER KHALEESIIIIII NOOO REMAKE IT!! fuckin normies just can’t handle characters dying
