You can buy just 2 but you will have only the vortex campaign, basically you will play on the fantasy world of south america and a magic donut.
If you buy the first one you get access to all the races from 1 and a combined super map.
If you buy all the DLC you can get extra campaigns for the wood elves and beastmen. But just for 1 which didn't get the combat overhauls.

Yes and no. If you own the first game and the DLC, those factions carry over to the second game. If you don't own the first game, then those factions don't carry over. The second game has its own factions.
So if you like the second game, then you can buy the first game to get more factions added.

yeah man elona is tight, i just lose interest very quickly. i think it does a poor job of keeping the casual player invested.
it's a great sandbox and good for theorycrafting and grinding though

One of the worst games I have ever, ever played. I dont understand why a game with those graphics and interesting plot about hunting monsters could be so appallingly bland and boring. Maybe because Im not 12? A friend bought me a new PS4 for my birthday just so I could play it with him and I felt so bad after the 3rd time playing when I had to tell him sorry man but I am falling asleep. I still feel bad about it to this day but not enough to give MH another try.

Battle Brothers is great. Very excited for Blazing Deserts. Has a major (MAJOR) overhaul mod for when you're done with the base game too.
