How bad are the stuttering in the steam version of FFXV? Is it as bad as the forum makes it out or is it just a vocal minority of butthurt Brazilians with shitty toasters? Asking since the recent reviews are very positive and it's on sale now. Also what JRPG should I get in the steam sale if not FFXV? I have played and enjoyed most FF and DQ games also Chrono Trigger, Breath of Fire and Lufia!
Completed my whole ng+ run of Totori right after finishing it the first time. I really love the free reign Atelier time limit over the periodic objectives style, and Totori nails it just about as well as I could hope. It's the only one in the series so far I've enjoyed enough to play twice in a row, and I don't even do that with most games these days. I successfully achieved best girl's ending and hope to go back for the true ending at some point.
Been going through lots of coffee.
I'm on chapter 15 of the FF7 Remake
So almost done, then time to replay it all again on hard mode!
You'd probably enjoy Trails in the Sky or maybe Ni no Kuni. Play World of Final Fantasy if you haven't.

One Way Heroics is dirt cheap again.
I feel you. I loved that game's minimalism and exploration
Is the Trails series a good way to get into jrpgs?
It's not really entry level, no. The series is predicated on soon to be 10 games in release order.
Honestly, no.
I love the games but there's a huge barrier to entry. They aren't casual or entry level by a long shot.
Would I need to play all of the Legends of Heroes games or can you just play the trails games?
For me, it's the McBurn.
You can just play trails.
Cold Steel is literally everything that's wrong with modern Japanese games in one package. Trails WAS worth playing a decade ago. Now it isn't. Steer clear.
On Chapter 4 of Xenoblade 2.
Drinking coffee so maybe I can be productive later.
Make sure you pick up One Way Heroics, it's only a couple bucks for the game and DLC.
Valkyria Chronicles 1 and 4 are bundled for $20.
All the Tales games are currently dirt cheap.
Based.
Try harder to fit in
It's highly recommended to begin the series from the start if you're into story, but you should be fine to play Cold Steel from the beginning if you really want to.
Just started the fourth act for all 8 characters in Octopath Traveller. Really hope a sequel is on the way - not perfect but pretty good and could see a sequel ironing out the issues I have with the game.
Also just finished Chapter 18 in FE 3 Houses. Good game but feeling burnt out on it now
The LoH series before Trails is really inaccessible in comparison and they aren't connected, so no. I hope to try them one day, but the localization and PSP version are dogshit so it'll be a while of studying moon before I get to them
No. God no.
For one thing, there's more reading than gameplay. The game is like a VN with a game attached.
If you want an entry level JRPG, try one of the Final Fantasy games (6, 7 or 10), Chrono Trigger or Super Mario RPG (SNES).
>Play Sky
>play Crossbell
>read the wiki for the Cold Steel games
>play Calvard when it comes out and is a return to form
Also this thread is supposed to be comfy, take it to /fg/
I'd say its very random.
I tried many things to get it to work properly, including special K which is widely recommended but that didnt do anything for me.
The game has a known issue when both controller and mouse are connected, making the game stutter a lot, and for me my problem was 99% resolved by actually switching mouses. It didnt like my 5buttons mouse, even on a flat surface the camera would randomly pan to the right, and buttons being non responsive every few seconds as well as heavy stuttering. I switched to a regular 3 button mouse and the problem was entirely resolved.
So I know it seems really random, I never had a controller connected at the same time either.
I discovered this after trying to run the game decently for like 2 years, only know I am able to play it just fine and finally finish it.
I think outside of those performance problems its a very decent game and while combat can seem weird at first it can get pretty fun.Aside from performance problems the way the story is told makes it apparent the game was cut and or rushed at some point, I'm on the final stretch of the game, and to not spoil too heavily I'll just say this: the game has 13 or 14chapters I believe, chapter 8 is you visiting a city, chapter 9 is a qte-cutscene fight which still looks amazing, chapter 10 is a dungeon, chapter 11 and 12 are like 2 very short quests and cutscenes.
Its still enjoyable when it runs at 60fps, I get minor stutters now related to loadings I believe.
I'd recommend not using the stuff given to you at the beginning, special edition items or whatever that make the combat terrible because you'll kill everything very fast.

Just started Dragon Quest XI, really enjoying it so far.

Square JRPG bundle on Steam
Thanks, I've already played and enjoyed Ni No Kuni but not World of Final Fantasy, Trails has been on my radar for some time but I just haven't felt like committing to such a long series since to my understanding the games aren't standalone like FF and DQ at all so you have to keep with the the series for the most pay off and I've also been discouraged by the reception of Cold Steel the Trailshedge and the "Haha" posting insinuating that there really isn't a payoff at all in the end. WOFF is like a FF Pokemon spinoff, right? Like the FF equivalent of Dragon Quest Monsters?
Really want to replay Wild Arms 2 since I haven't touched it since I was a kid but I'm not sure I have the mental fortitude for such an endeavor, it's a real shame it never got a fan translation
only play the cold steel games the rest are trash because they don't have Rean as MC
Reminder that this bundle is a poorly veiled excuse to boost the sales numbers of Oninaki.
But you should still buy Dragon Quest XI and FFXII if you don't have them already.
haha
Finishing ff7r. Also playing trials of mana. Also thinking about trying to do the postgame for octopath.
Also considering getting the world ends with you on switch. Too many options. Its good times i guess.
>What are you playin'?
I just did the first Blitzball game in FFX. I think I'll go play something else to wash my mouth.
WoFF is the Final Fantasy equivalent of Pokemon or DQ Monsters, yes. You collect FF monsters and characters and stack them on top of one another to combine their abilities into stronger creatures. There's also some evolving into stronger monsters and such. It's a fun lighthearted adventure with some KH vibes.
And Trails in the Sky and Cold Steel are separate series with some cameos to one another, as far as I know. You can just start with the first one, Trails in the Sky, and keep playing on to SC if you liked it.
If not that, though, maybe give Valkyria Chronicles or Disgaea a shot. (I recommend starting with Disgaea 2, as 1 is pretty rough)
haha
The problem with this package isn't that it's a thinly veiled way of appeasing SE's stockholders with Oninaki sales, it's that you're buying it for DQ11 and FFXII TZA but you should really, really be playing the Switch version of DQ11. The vanilla game is still good but if you're gonna spend $50, the Switch version is so much better.
Finished XBC and started Sakura Wars 5. Might change Sakura Wars for something else though.
You wouldn't start a thread with Cucked Shit if you wanted a comfy thread.
