Mike (((Morhaime))) BTFO

>PRESIDENT OF COMPANY DISAGREES WITH CRITICISM OF COMPANY

well that's just blatantly untrue, the game is intentionally less social

WoW then;
>People talking and doing things together
>You could find people to play with just by playing the game and experiencing new things
WoW now:
>Everyone is either on their personal discord talking shit about everyone else, or they're in trade chat trying to sell runs.
>Any attempt at discussions are drowned out by chinese bots
>Everyone just wants efficiency and speed, and nobody cares about the path between start and finish

Fucking crock of shit. In Vanilla you had to form your own groups, which meant you had to talk to people and ask them if they wanted to group, current WoW just has you clicking a button and getting a group.

Sounds like the players are the issue.

FF11 from 2003-2010~ was way more social than WoW was during anytime in vanilla, but vanilla it still required some semblance of being social to get things done, at least.

I remember when I played WoD, because like a retard I fell for the "its back to the roots" meme, and I qued up for a dungeon. Inside, one dude was talking and nobody replied, except for me. The guy was super happy because he'd been trying to talk to people all day and literally nobody would reply. So yeah, it's complete bullshit.

Nah, if you don't give people any incentive to socialise, they simply won't do it. There is no need to ever talk to anyone in WoW anymore. Even when raiding you can just listen and never talk.

Reminds me of Xbox live. Private parties emerged and killed the culture overnight. Team chat tries to revive things a little, but it isn’t the same

Is rdf to blame?

No, it's the game's systems that facilitate and encourage different kinds of player behaviour and interactions.
I'm playing classic and almost always talking with random people about random stuff, constantly getting into temporary little groups for questing, etc.

It’s social if you want it to be social. No systems actively prohibits people from talking. You point out LFG but what stops the group from talking? Zoomers in general are less social thats whats happening and WoW only caters to that

>It’s social if you want it to be social
No, when will you faggots understand this. It doesn't matter how social you want to be, if nobody wants to talk, they won't fucking talk. There is no reason to talk with other people. All content is piss easy except for like Mythic+10000 raids. You can try as you like, no one will ever reply to you.

I never used to believe that companies lied until all of them never seemed to have anything go bad for them ever.

>"Oh yes, we've made a lot of day one sales, take that internet trolls"
>"Oh yes, our diversity push is doing wonders for everyone, take that internet trolls"

Fuck China.

The game used to promote being social, now it does not promote being social.

Even now the gameplay of Classic encourages social play.

I was bored dicking around on a fresh character and had at least 3 people help with starting quests where we bullshitted about our lives/the game.

I don't think I've talked to a single person in years when I play retail. Nothing more than a "hi" when queuing into dungeons.

>Even now the gameplay of Classic encourages social play.

No it doesn't
I tried to level last week and as a level 29 mage I cannot get a dungeon group together. Why?

Because level 60s are selling dungeon runs and people would rather just pay high levels to run it for them than actually socializing and forming a real group.

>what stops the group from talking?
Because people don't do things if they don't have to. You HAVE to cooperate with people in vanilla.

Why would I talk to someone or invite them to my group when I can just leech tag their mobs and fly off?

The players will always choose whatever is the most time-effective option to complete their objectives.
If there's no incentive to talk to people, nobody will talk to people.
In modern wow, the most time-effective option most of the time is to burst your way through all the quests by yourself. You don't even need to party up with people to do the same quests as them, if you need to kill the big bad, you can just hit the boss the other player is hitting without ever saying "hi".

What server?

WoW was always anti social casual trash compared to actual MMOs. So in a way he's right.

every server but i play on whiteman

A lot of their employees don't think Jay Allen Brack is the right person to be head of Blizzard. Morhaime was better in every way.

How? He lost them money will Brack makes them money

>Water does not shape to fit the container, it does what it wants

Both are the case: people play it how it was and people also try to optimise it because Classic is running alongside a streamlined and debased modern WoW. The conditioning is bedded-in.

>Mike Morhaime lost Blizzard money

Under Mike Morhaime, WoW reached 12 million active subscribtions. What has Brack actually contributed since taking over?

The issue is that the game focus is stat wanking and not actually playing well or together.
It's so bad me and my friends don't even bother with guilds anymore we do our +15 or the week and goof around getting rare mounts because it's actually more enjoyable hunting specific rares and events for that crab mount than any other content in the game.

I made a good friend on classic doing my onyxia access quest, All I get on retail is solo WQ, boring warfront& irrelevant islands, bad raid where players don't give a fuck about anything and leaving after they down the boss they want.

Addressing the first thing you said, that's because WoW is filled with Chinese bots to make the game look populated.

Don't listen to people when they say "bots don't exist, retard". Companies use them all the time now and that apparently doesn't count as a form of fraud. Pretty sure Valve does it too.
