Hey guys, debating picking this up, should I go for it?
Hey guys, debating picking this up, should I go for it?
Yes, it is the best game of all time.
Hmm. Is it soulful?
It is maximum SOUL.
Are you ok with non-direction?
If you have a switch then it should be mandatory.
What else does that shitty console have? Animal crossing?
its soulless but its still a good vidya
Dont let Zig Forumstards manipulate you into thinking its a bad game.
yes it is unironically a god tier 10/10 game if you're not the kind of person who needs and on rails hollywood movie experience
the only bad thing is that nintendo are kikes and you can never get the games for cheap
If you bought a Switch and don't have BotW what the fuck are you doing?
tranny game
Did you play it in your childhood and have feelings of nostalgia for it?
If you specifically like the first game and have played enough of the rest to get some enjoyment our of the little inclusions from each of them, yes.
Otherwise, probably not. It has some issues that need a-fixin'.
not OP but I got it for Wii U, why would I buy it again for Switch?
Yes.
Sure, certainly not the best Zelda game but easy 8/10.
Once you play BotW every other open world game will control like shit to you. Content of the world can be debated, how Link interacts with it though is decades ahead of every other game.
Im playing through ffxv right now. When I look at the world and see a cool mountain I literally think its shit I can't climb it. Running into wall, trying to get up hills. Botw essentially removed all barriers in the world. When you play it, it feels so natural to see something somewhere and be able to go to it. Yeah I know nothings theres yada yada. But its literally
>See that mountain, you can climb it
the game

Fuck off, sonygro!
Its better than every 3d zelda game by far. Take off the nostalgia goggles if you are old enough to even wear them.
OP here, after looking at the opinions here and the Metacritic scores, I've decided to get it, thanks!
Yeah its pretty good
it's a whole lot of nothing.
Have fun OP. It's pretty good - the 10/10 reviews are bit ridiculous but it is a pretty good game. It's got a 'Symphony of the Night' problem where the further into the game you get the stonger you get and the late game can be a bit of a cakewalk. On the other hand once you complete the tutorial you can explore anywhere, even going straight to the final boss if you want to. The game's best moments are where you're underpowered and underequiped and have to rely on your wits and what few things you have to get out of a tight situation - in those moments the game feels almost Deus Ex 1-like and it really shines.
Yes
the world is pretty empty but I somehow spent over 200 hours in it, so Id say go for it
contrariancel
Yeah, it's a great experience whether you come to think of it as the greatest game of all time or just a good game, it's really hard to dislike this game unless you're actively trying to.
I thought it was Sony making the tranny games nowadays.
Don't, it's pointless unless you're really interested in the handheld aspect, the resolution and framerate is also slightly better on Switch but the Wii U version got a ton of great support and the updates made it into a perfectly playable experience.
>it's really hard to dislike this game
It was pretty easy for me and I didn't even have to try. I came in wanting to like it.
>2k hours in botw
>still play it daily
>only at 870 seeds
FUCKING WHERE
To be fair Xenoblade X also did this, albeit in a smaller scale, Monolith is just perfecting the open world format, wish their next game after the XC remake is a sequel to X instead of XC3.
I seriously lament the lack of traditional dungeons... still very fun though
It's the only game that does open-world right.
>no invisible walls
>climbing
>always something to find, actually got me to explore shit for myself. None of that BS in which devs have to use sidequests for you to actually walk around
I got all the seeds but I did have to use a guide for the final 100, it just gets ridiculous how much there are.
If you don't mind spending an evening on it you can just use the interactive map to pinpoint the ones you're missing.
Some of the balloon shooting ones are absolutely fucking deviously hidden
You have to be looking in the exact right place at the exact right time to spot some of them
This is the one legitimate issue with the game, I wouldn't really mind if all the dungeons just used the same slate runes as anything else but I really missed the unique aesthetic and bosses, TP is still the best Zelda game concernign dungeons.
I really wish I tracked my seeds right from the first one. it would be so much easier.
