Never played any of those games
I got probably halfway into Hotel Dusk and it's well presented and enjoyable to play, but I couldn't deal with how tame and uninteresting the plot is compared to shit like The Silver Case.
Jesus Christ you have to be German or Russian. If you are kys for being so generic.
I've only played (and enjoyed) Civ 4 and Fallout 1.
Tried getting into Mount n' Blade games, but they never really clicked.
Yeah the plot is nothing special, but I liked the cast, characters, and art direction. I remember playing it during long bus rides to school, so there's a big element of nostalgia involved in it being my choice.
I still haven't tried The Silver Case even tho it's in my backlog. Looks really intriguing.
thoughts?

American as the day I was born.
Unironically based as well as redpilled
Could add on or make one for console games, which is mostly going to be PS2 gems.

i really hated the story of V4 they had a good going with the friendship thing until the snow part, they should have focused on that instead of children biofuel and kai beyond obvious betrayal
I shall dub the arcana arcade effect
After getting really deep into the Yakuza series for the first time, I'm thinking of switching out Dead Rising for Yakuza Kiwami
Is Prey that good? I started playing it last week and I'm not seeing much reason to keep going. It seems like a really generic take on the immersive sim genre, like they're trying a little too hard to recreate those old games instead of something new.
It's pretty much the Systemshock 3 we've all been waiting for, imo.

>Kiwami
I must ask why. I think it's the weakest entry in the whole series.
It has fantastic ideas, but whether or not you'll find them compelling across the entire runtime is down to the individual. I did not.
>what is everspace
Not gonna miss my chance to shill it.
Imagine the combat of Freelancer or a 6dir, with the roguelike structure of FTL.
But unlike FTL, you can always win based on either skill.
Is that minus for Dead Rising or Kiwami?
As for why?
Cause its the only one I've finished so far. I;m very new to the series.
+ Umineko, Disco Elysium, KOTOR2, Eternal, DMC5
Currently in the process of playing through Deadly Premonition. It really does feel like Twin Peaks: The Game.
I'm afraid I haven't played Freelancer, but after looking Everspace up on Steam, it looks quite cool. Is it playable with a keyboard and mouse, or is a flight stick the preferred control?
Dead Rising.
That's perfectly fair; I don't think it's a bad game, and I'm glad you enjoy it so much.
Helllllllll yeah, brother, I hope you find it compelling.

4/4 Playing Pathfinder currently. In the middle of some very long downtime post Arnog Barbarian War.
8/8 I am looking forward to the W101 PC. Hope it doesn't get delayed.
6/6
>everspace
It's designed specifically for mouse and keyboard.
There is controller support, and there's nothing stopping you from configuring in a flight stick. If not built in then emulated.
4/4
Bloodborne, Ninja Gaiden, Demon's Souls, The Last Guardian
5/5
Persona 4, FF X, FF XIV, Deadly Premonition, Doom Eternal

Demon's Souls simplistic mechanics make it fail to be the experiential type of game it is trying to be, and the combat in of itself is not fleshed out enough to be all that enjoyable. I finished it once and probably never will again. Later games in the series have improved upon the formula so much. Splinter Cell is just way too linear in my opinion. Theres not really much different you can do from playthrough to playthrough, which makes mastering it not as satisfying. Prey's enemy design was especially bland but I admit I didn't play it much.
Is Soul Sacrifice Delta just a Monster Hunter clone with more of a focus on story? Or is it something more than that?

Do you actually make decisions in Umineko or is it just reading the whole game?

Fantastic! Are you limited to small ships, or can you command larger, cruiser type deals?

>Do you actually make decisions in Umineko
You make one near the very end, and you actively solve a puzzle via gameplay in the same episode, but other than that, it is just reading.
Umineko is a giant book its not a game.
I have Senran Kagura 2.
It wasn't nearly as good. The controls mostly, I beat it but I still don't have a grasp on it.
Strictly limited to smaller ships. The largest thing you can shoot with is a gunship/"heavy fighter", but the largest thing you can kill is a frigate.
