The purpose of social distancing was so that we can avoid contact with other people to reduce both the chances of getting infected and to slow the spread of the virus. Some jobs necessitate being in close contact with other people and is almost unavoidable. The moment everyone resumes things back to normal is when we all start getting sick. People should be able to get back to their jobs, but it has to have many restrictions. If there isn't any rules put in place it's gonna be a mass panic all over again.
Also, remdesivir had already been developed and proves we can still make developments to stop corona if we wait long enough
