What's your fucking excuse, Zig Forums?

>take down the Flagship in FTL
>2.3% of the people who own the game have never done this
What the FUCK is your excuse, Zig Forums?

I don't have FTL

RNG fucking me in the ass by giving me shit weapons

I pirated the game.

I don't have steam.

FTL is not a good game

this
but i finished it on my smartphone

Aw c'mon it's really fun

I pirated the game, duh.

>b-but the indierinos
Look all the fucks I give (pic related).

Beat on hard with every ship before they implemented achievements faggot, most who own the game either got it in a bundle, got for free with into the breach or already loved and beat it before achievements don't feel proud (tell you beat on hard)

>2.3% of the people who own the game have never done this
False. Most people haven't even ran FTL since they JUST added achievements like 3 months ago.

i havent played it in several years i didnt even know it had steam achievements now
do i get it for just booting up the game

>I blame the rng

Not really.
Yes you can manage what you invest in, strategize in battles and stuff, but eventually the RNG decide to fuck you over and there's very little you can do about it.

I beat it before they added achievements

Man I love seeing people complain about this being "unwinnable" if you don't get a good enough loadout.
Meanwhile people have documented win streaks on hard mode with every single ship layout. There's one streamer who picks layouts at random, plays the game WITHOUT PAUSING, and still racks up huge win streaks.

It's too much RNG.
The other problem that I have that it's hard to see when the games decides to fuck you over.

>but eventually the RNG decide to fuck you over and there's very little you can do about it.
Scrap management, efficient exploration, and retreat if you're in too dangerous of a fight. Every run is winnable if you play it smart.

If you launch the game now, it'll unlock all of the achievements you've already earned.

Are you sure you got the right number for that percentage?

people who winstreak usually either start with the shitty ships or just dont use them entirely
theres a few that tend to just die sometimes and theres not a lot you can do about it

also most peoples problem is that the "winning" strats arent fun
nobody wants to abuse the teleporter with the same 2-3 weapons every single fucking run, but thats how you win because the scrap bonus for crew extermination is retarded and most weapons are dogshit compared to burst mk 2 and flak

I got it for $1 on GOG

spot the underage

Based. RNG is the ultimate cope for people who can't git gud.

I agree that once you know what to look out for that you can mitigate the negatives of RNG, but there's still plenty of bullshit going around.
Like for example you can lose one of your crew to a random event choice on the first map. While the same answer could've given you more resources.

I'm really bad, I usually just die in the first few encounters

Yeah, so don't take the risk without a cloning bay or enough bodies to spare. The game didn't force you to gamble.

Holy fuck are you really complaining that the game doesnt tell you exactly what's gonna happen? You sound casual as fuck.
>oh no the game tried to challenged me wtf?? shit game

Maybe strategy games arent your speed user. There are tons of games out there that you dont even have to think or use your brain at all to enjoy.

It absolutely does. You have to gamble otherwise you will never have enough resources to win. Are you being silly on purpose?

Samefagging. I'm not saying its bad. I'm not that user and I play the fuck out of FTL, but saying the game doesn't force you to gamble every once in awhile isn't accurate.

There are more than enough safe options in the first quadrant start taking risks later on if you had a rough start.

Okay, dipshit, the game doesn't force you to take the gamble at all. You literally do not have to take that specific risk if it isn't in your favor, just stick to combat until you can afford either option presented to mitigate the risk entirely.

I'm turning 29 in 15 days.

I'm not saying that I need to know exactly what's going to happen. Sometimes the events are very open for interpretation
The strategy part is in ship upgrades and systems. events are (in my experience) either a choice where nothing happens or a gamble

you have to understand chief, the majority of people bought the game, completed it then haven't played it since. You don't get achievements unless you boot it up since the update happened.

That's pathetic then. I couldn't imagine being a grown ass man that can't beat FTL on normal. Is your brain broken?

Because people have to install the game again and get the achievements?

It's a shit game.

Hella rude man. I don't want to wait to get good RNG. It's fake winning.

why exactly would I do that if I don't want to play it

is hard.

>people still don't understand the statistical odds of being unlucky can happen
that being said, i don't have normal boss defeated because of dumb mistakes as opposed to RNG, but rng was sprinkled on top when certain weapons/systems never show up and you're stuck with burst laser 3 and some emp garbage that misses constantly
>kept doing retarded blue options even though i knew they would fuck me
>get mad when they fuck me

Nice b8

Fuck this thread, made me reinstall it for another run. And I don't even like this game

>jump to star
>it doesn't connect to the next star
>the jump back is into the red and FURTHER AWAY than any other star near you that you can't connect to
bullshit game, tbqh, but most of it is trial and error until you find out what to say yes and no too

useless statistics considering there's a huge number of people that own the game yet never launched it once
they were giving it away at some point
and the achievements were added way later, by that point i was done with the game
you a brainlet

Cope, if that were enough to lose then just getting an empty node would also be when really it's lose of a overmap turn and one fuel often the risky choices have netural choices, after you have beaten the flagship a few times you will find it easier to spend our resources wizley on what actually is a win con often a wasted purchase is far more likely to lead to lose or at least blame rng never giving you decent weapons it sucks far worse to have a shitty load out then to have lost a pathetic human crew to some spiders

>what is reading a map and planning your sector
Get back to Fortnite, summerfag.

To e-brag to all your internet friends

Guess I'll bite this time.
When you mouse over a star it shows you exactly which other stars it connects to. You can plot out your route through the sector before making your first jump.

>And I don't even like this game
Is pretty fun, really. My only real complaint is this one and only applies to hard, you can win in normal with memeships, like fire-ray + firebombs and stuff.

I didn’t really like it that much.

Okay all you RNGbabbies which is worse, FTL or Isaac?

Holy run on sentence Batman!

NIGGER I SAID THE MAP LITERALLY MAKES ME GO FARTHER BACK ACROSS THE MAP BACKWARDS, REALLY LONG PATH FROM 1 STAR TO THE OTHER, WHILE THE STAR NEXT TO IT ISN'T AVAILABLE FOR NO REASON, FUCK YOU

>useless statistics considering there's a huge number of people that own the game yet never launched it once
Yeah, most Steam games have stuff like "kill your first enemy: completed by 60% of players".

holy fucking shit, how did i play through the whole game like that and not know about that

nvm i'm just retarded i guess

>event happens
>if you click yes, you can get a cool thing that ups your chances of winning the game
>or it can just fuck you
>it's random
>"just be strategic, bro, just b urself"

some things just aren't worth the risk if you're doing well

Nice meme arrows newfriend. But if you're trying to beat the game then just don't risk it unless you can afford to lose a crew member. Or do it and possibly lose your run. But you don't get to complain when the game never forces you to take that chance.
