Just beat the game, absolutely amazing. Probably the most frustrated and angry any game has made me at times but it was all worth it, I just wish that passing some areas didn't feel like luck sometimes.
What'd you anons think of it?

I remember when this shit was taking years to come out lol
I bought it day one but I still haven't beaten it, my first playthrough I apparently went through the hardest route and never got to the first story segment (completely skipped it)
Second playthrough is going great, got much further but I stopped for no reason.
it's an amazing game for anons like me who get a boner off of procedural animation
It's amazing how well the procedural animation works, and how even though slugcat's movement is fully physics based he still is always completely responsive.
Rain World would benefit from a casual mode.
Isn't Monk basically casual mode?
It's called monk
I think it’s an unique experience that can’t be forgotten. Not one aspect of the game is weak (maybe the combat but even then no other game has its combat, it’s completely on its own).
Yes and no.
The Monk is slower and weaker than all the other slugcats, but creatures are less likely to be hostile towards him and karma gates stay open.
So, it's easier if you're a pacifist but if you just want to kill shit then hunter is the easiest, but has a time limit and everything wants to kill him too.
So is there ANY way to get those deer things to move the way you want? So many times the fuckers just pace back and forth when I finally hang onto them.
It's very cool, I kind of like how there is no ability unlocking and you just become sick-nasty at controlling a slugcat and impaling giant predators with shitty rebar.
so what the fuck are they teasing on their twitter
really like that lil creature i Will try this game
I didn't even know you could throw spears downwards until I had already beaten the game. And the slide move is something I had only accidentally pulled off and never figured out how to repeat it until watching videos of other people playing.
A new game, different series. Since rain world originally flopped critically and commercially, they might have started working on an entirely different game, probably more public friendly
Will forever stick with me as a game that achieves that sense of exploring and discovery
what a shame mind why
jesus christ i hope your wrong. that would be a major monkey paw
Anyone have any webms showing off neat tricks?
It's a good game, although a bit too difficult for me to enjoy.
>rain world originally flopped
But it gained momemtum in the following years. The Zig Forums threads last year are a testament to that.
You can throw spears downward? What the fuck
My goofy niece finished it and my boomer sister is making it past "The Leg". You have no excuse.
backflip then hold down and press X while in mid air to throw spears downward
The game they were working on before the popularity of rain world rose had a headstart. They had a publisher, at the end of the day, it’s profit businesses seek
Sure, but look, I'm still holding out for an update. No harm in a little hope.
A new game is fine too. If it's as uncompromising in its scope as rain world.
Whenever I see a Valorant thread, I think it's Rain World and I get excited. Same color scheme.
Pretty much the same as your thoughts. I think it's a masterpiece because it uses the frustration and anger and turns it into the game's narrative.
I want to play this game but I remember that I'm going to have to rush to see moon in this cycle and then backtrack somewhere else. Backtracking is something I'm not super interested in doing.
So skip moon
This game gives me La Mulana vibes.
Why do the devs never consider putting it on sale I wonder.
It was on sale a while back
it goes on sale on steam pretty regularly, less often on ps4, and only once ever on switch.
you only have to back track to shoreline it does not take long at all
