Depends on the metashit. I don't enjoy games that like to be all quirky at how meta they are. Acknowledging overplayed tropes in an irritating tongue-in-cheek manner as some sort of excuse because they'll still pivot into those tropes later.

I think VNs like this one where the meta solely exists to drive home the point that the girl is a batshit insane lunatic is better.
