Why do people believe controller is so inferior to keyboard mouse in fps games?

Why do people believe controller is so inferior to keyboard mouse in fps games?

Are people seriously that terrible with a controller or is it something else?

Well even the best players on a controller get wrecked by users on a mouse/keyboard during crossplay, so its kinda obvious the reason.

keyboard has more buttons and mouse is easier to use than a stick, it's not rocket science.
I only use a pad on badly ported console games.

I dunno user
Sit down with rainbow 6 siege with a controller on a PC lobby, see how it goes
We might be able to solve this together, op! :)

a good fps player can use both, a really good one can even use a fucking steering wheel to aim

Unless everyone in the lobby is a pro player then what you're saying is completely false.

>10mm off input space vs 450mm

Joysticks aren't as precise. Trackballs can compete but nobody uses them.

Controllers have aim assist and when you get used to it how it functions then it really feels like you're sticking on them.

Dual sticks for FPS is fucking garbage. Nintendo got it right with Splatoon 2 - dual sticks but fine tune your aim with gyro.

No, he's right.

PC gamers are literally subhuman and haven't yet developed opposable thumbs.

Yet you have no argument.

Genuinely do this and I win often bro

So pro players on controller lose to pro players on keyboard?
So normal people on controller lose to normal people on keyboard?
hmmmm... seems right ot me

Literally depends entirely on genre, though KB+M is best for most. I will literally never play another action game that isn't just M1/M2 with KB+M again. I also will literally never even try a demo for a console RTS again.

he doesn't need ons, they're right and you're wrong.

Fighting games = Fightstick or DS3 Gamepad (Xbone gamepad okay)
FPS = mouse/keyboard without autoaim, Xbone gamepad with autoaim
Third person shooter = Gamepad with autoaim, mouse/keyboard without autoaim
Cinematic over the shoulder story-driven game = DS4 Gamepad
Nintendo exclusives = Joycons with gyro aim
RTS = No one plays those anymore

It solely depends on the game and the players preference. That's the power of PC

when will people accept stick + gyro is superior? We've known this since 2013 with Uncharted and 2015 with Splatoon

Retard controller players that can't win with aim assist despite it being a lesser form of hacking.

kek.

>trust me its better and i'm more skillful for having the game aim for me

a mouse is objectively better than a right stick for aiming, there is really no contest there
whether a keyboard or a left joystick is better is debatable, depends on whether you need the smart movement of the joystick or the dumb movement of the keyboard would be better. but i would give it to keyboard by default because keys are better than buttons.

Are you so bad at using keyboard + mouse that you don't understand its potential when compared to stick-aiming?

Aiming with a mouse is LITERALLY, OBJECTIVELY BETTER than aiming with an analog stick

Are you so bad that win aim assist you still miss?

Maybe consider that if someone calls something inferior it's actually because it's inferior and not because they're bad. And I say this as someone who prefers a controller for pretty much everything.

kek

DS4 has a dogshit deadzone, thats why

I used to feel this way, but for some reason gyro is only good with Splatoon. I played Star fox Zero and immortal redneck with gyro and for some reason they didn't feel anywhere near as good as Splatoon did.

gyro aiming with a switch is better than twin sticking. let alone M+KB

Lets forget aim assist is literally the same thing as hacking.

Console fags are so sad I swear.

Blizzard Overwatch literally had to nerf Torbjorn on console because players couldn't turn and kill the turrets fast enough.
Just stick to using controllers on platformers.

On 360 they had that Shadowrun FPS that had cross-play between PC/360. I remember reading reports about how badly console players would get stomped.
I somehow got in a local game or two of the original Red Faction in using a guitar hero guitar on PS2. It was a nightmare but I actually got some kills.

A mouse is faster and more accurate for aiming. There is no debate on this topic. Doesn't mean you can't enjoy playing with a controller though, it's just objectively slower and less precise. The End.

This post is really proving my point of how people are that terrible with a controller. I only use controller and it easily dominates kbm.

My old roommate had a switch with Splatoon 2. It took me a day to adjust but gyro aiming on that was fucking awesome. Fun game, too. Was bummed when I learned saves was local and no cloud saves since I ended up putting quite a bit of time into the game.

Look, bro. I get it. You're the special snowflake that wins even with a controller because you're in the know. You know all the secrets that allow you to use a controller with the same level of precision that is almost universally believed to be only possible with a mouse. It's not that you're so fucking causal that you can't even tell the difference at your level of play. You're just too pro for this world. Congrats. You truly are an epic gamer.

okay show me top pros that do this

nice bait

I use both keyboard and mouse and controller often and it depends on the game. If the game has the slightest amount of aim assist then controller rapes pc gamers. Otherwise without aim assist pc gamers rape controller kids.

Controllers will always be inferior to M/KB for FPS games unless they're given borderline aimbot-tier assistance.

whys every game have autoaim built in with controllers? are people that terrible with a controller or is it something else?

You're just terrible at aiming. It's not bait buddy.

I know from experience. I've used both for many, many years and for a FPS it's fucking without debate. Some games ARE better in a certain way with a controller and auto-target. They however are single player games where you're not dealing with human reactions.

Lol tell me aim assist isn't what AIMS for YOU.

This will make controller players so suicidal lmao.

>Why do people believe controller is so inferior to keyboard mouse in fps games?
Because a controller is. You will never be as precise as you will be with a mouse.
>Are people seriously that terrible with a controller or is it something else?
It's possible, but those of us that are good with both know that FPS is best played with a literally laser accurate mouse.
>source
I was a console gamer for a decade and played most my fps there until i made the switch to PC. Will never go back.

Then why are Halofags always bitching about controller users in the steam ports?
