Would you play Sonic Adventure 3 if it was written by IDW?
Would you play Sonic Adventure 3 if it was written by IDW?
Honestly, from what I've seen, everyone would have major whiplash from eggman suddenly becoming actually evil.
It would be nice for the comics and the games finally reach some sort of shared canon too.
Would play it, but nostalgia is a hard beast to defeat, and everyoneis going to call it edgy as fuck because for once eggman isn't written like an idiot.
As long its not boostshit yes.
They already have. The latest comics are a continuation of forces.
....How did they handle the custom character thing?
No, it would take almost 2 years to get to the climax of the game.
So adventure 3 is now a JRPG.
sure if we get her
Only if the gameplay is good and isn't boostshit
No you stupid furry, there's already too many shallow characters within the existing IP.
Ian's long winding and exhausting "let's get the gang back together!!!" doomsday tragedy porn plots might fit better for a game than a comic based on length alone but I still wouldn't want his writing in the games at all
Play it? Sure. Want it? No. It'd get too story heavy and with a cast I'd care less about than the folks that complain about Sonic's 'friends' hate those characters.
they never bother to mention the Avatar and just stick withe the core cast along with a few new additions
This character is silly, that bee and this one. They are insects. It doesnt make sense.
Agreed
They didn't.
Sonic just made a comment about how they put a Wispon to good use in the first issue.
They're either infected and useless or they aren't helping to collect the emeralds and are useless. Infinite hasn't been referenced at all.
They look like they fuck human men
If that's your gripe with where things don't make sense in the Sonic universe then you got a lot of homework to do.
Maybe, but I miss when Sonic games were about fictional ancient civilizations
You know it only takes like two hours to read all this shit, right?
They aren't shallow when someone actually takes the time to write them
Like, Amy has switched between being the most shallow stereotype in the series and being one of the deepest characters depending on the game
so? that doesn’t make it not legitimately annoying for monthly readers
no but id jerk off to the art probably
I would take Ian over the shit we've been getting since Colors.
Forces is such a fucking train-wreck story and narrative wise that it rivals the gameplay in how disappointing it is.
Officially, Forces didn't happen.
Officially, SEGA treats the comic as something separate, like Sonic Boom or SatAM. They often veto any explicit references to games. That's why the badniks in the first arc look like HEROS badniks instead of Forces, becuase the comic doesn't technically take place after Forces.
So custom character doesn't exist becuase Forces didn't happen, officially.
Imagine the field day scalpers would have if there were special variant versions of the game that only go out in small numbers to gamestops that order shitloads of copies
Forces literally happened in the comic
You need to read more than the first issue to figure out why they used Heroes shit
Regardless of how valid an issue that may or may not be, that's just not really a complaint that holds up retroactively once you can read them all at once
Archie was better
Yes so the archiefags will get btfo to oblivion
What's with the hatred of Archie? I'm seeing it a log lately and its got me confused. I racked up the hate of Sally Acorn to typical internet shipping, but I wasn't aware that the comics were actively disliked. Last time I checked (Which admittedly was more than a decade), they were pretty popular.
is the sthg circlejerk. they hate Archie because it portrays the Sonic cast as definitive heterosexuals, which intrudes on their headcanons.
I don't know what this series of images is supposed to convey
Eggman is an intimidating looking crackhead, and then they defused it by making it a joke, and that's funny?
The comics are kinda cringe tho
> it portrays the Sonic cast as definitive heterosexuals
What? Gonna need a quick rundown.
From what I've seen, the point is that Eggman swaps rapidly from being intimidating to being a goofy cartoon villain.
Penders
All the convoluted and deeply autistic shit he introduced was a deep stain on the comic's reputation, especially when others took over and tried to make sense of it
It really, desperately needed those reboots it got, but it was too late
Outside of excessive shipping being cringe that makes it seem like the writers are projecting their magical realm onto the stories, giving Sonic a definitive sexual relationship- let alone giving him a fanfiction harem of revolving love interests- is kind of missing the point
It's not quite on the level of Donte from DmC, but it just doesn't fit his character
