A monster that uses small pocket dimensions to delay the mains from beating him up all the while he summons moderately powerful minions (who don't drop anything to prevent them from being grindable) the idea being to engage him then when he disengages either use subterfuge (ie traps, explosives, magic or something) to end him from afar or to rush through a couple smaller combat encounters to reengage and finish the fight. Skeletons. A skeleton can be literally any type of enemy you want. Weak ass starting monster? An old, brittle skeleton. Medium level mobs? Skeleton with a sword and a helmet. Casters? Boom, skeletons in robes. A tough boss? Big skeleton in full armor. An EVEN tougher boss? A fucking dragon skeleton. Paint them red to know they're different than your average skeleton, or blue for ice element. You can even take skeletons and smash them together into their own, unique monsters like they're fucking legos.

If you kill him before he can take it you can improve your weapon in a manner of choice.
