It's even presented as a movie
Alan Wake is rated around these parts.
I've heard exclusively good things about this game on this board.
The "game" is shit.
it was panned by everyone including gaym jurnos for a reason.
If Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey were on either Sony or Nintendo consoles they'd be considered some of the greats.
Most people here like it and it has been playable on PC for years.
Take your meds, schizo.

In what world?
Remedy always was the forerunner of movie game trend.

I can't tell if that was a genuine and very failed attempt at being unnerving or if it's intentional camp.
The idea of someone being mind raped by a lovecraftian force of darkness and forced into becoming a thoughtless killing machine while their body's previous inhabitant tries their hardest to hold on and break through is really disturbing and scary, but was executed hilariously here.
I loved Alan Wake, and everyone who wants to own a copy should get it while they can because they aren't going to be able to keep selling it forever thanks to music licensing.
Microsoft recently relicensed the music so it'll be on digital storefronts for a good while longer yet.
Didn't Microsoft bail them out of that? I thought they came to a permanent agreement with that.

Bit of both, probably. It was never really a horror game in the first place, just horror themed. As stupid as that sounds when you read it.
>Can't find a video with all the Taken quotes
Pretty disappointed now.

Retail was such a disappointment. What could have been if they actually pulled out the concept.
The landscape day and night cycle still gets me very hard, their lighting and fog game was phenomenal.
I'm not saying it doesn't have a fanbase or a majority favorable opinion, I'm talking about games that would be bigger here on other systems.
Eternal Sonata maybe?
I reckon Lost Odyssey would be equal to FF too, but I'm quite biased and don't like FF so I dunno.
I would be interested in seeing this direction but one of my favorite things about Alan Wake and it's greatest strength is the pacing. That episodic style is perfect. An open world version would make the game weaker I think.
Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey are prime examples. They were the last two traditional JRPGs on console until Dragon Quest XI.
Cant fucking wait.

The issue with the game is that it's too long and it feels like a chore at times, they padded it out unnecessarily.
I enjoyed it overall but there really isn't very much to say about it.
Was the first expansion any good?
how's the other dlc that already came out? I still have to do the last part of the game, but I've kind of burnt out.
The Hiss just do not have interesting battle themes.
>Zig Forums would call Gears casual while having round the clock TF2 threads
The gameplay never really evolves or rather it's so basic that it never feels compelling to play. I really like the game but mechanically it's a little repetitive.
This one's going to have some Alan Wake stuff, right? I've read it somewhere.
Are you blind?
Deus Ex Invisible War.
I’m ready for the hate, but I’ve always liked that game.
It's literally showing the Alan Wake logo/cover art right there, user. But yeah, Alan Wake's story is canon to the Control universe. They Bureau does not know all the details of what happened, but the events of his game is recorded as an Altered World Event and some other references.
Also, to my personal delight the Old Gods of Asgard makes a cameo in Control.

You love to see it!
