It was a really good way of demonstrating a gay character, and showing that just because someone like Bill is paranoid and lonely, that they aren't immune to falling for someone. That was a great way to show a gay character, and now instead we get E3 trailers showing a gay kiss to demonstrate how gay they are

People say the women in this game look awful but honestly Ellie looks beautiful, legit at least 8-9/10 girl IRL, and same with Joel, a gorgeous fucking man.

The first game was a survival-drama with a father-daughter relationship. Near the end of a very unneccesary DLC for the main game, the daugther character is revealed to have early-pubescent proclivities towards liking girls

This game hamfists this idea all the way, and the now adult Ellie is supposedly in a relationship with another woman from the start. Add to that, the "father" figure, Joel seems to get killed off early in the game so Ellie spends most of the remainder with her lesbian girlfriend as her partner instead of Joel, aka cutting off the character-relationship the fans loved from the first game for lesbian shenanigans
Also, the character thal kills Joel is extremely muscular to the point thats it laughable considering the post-apoc setting. The character is also a girl even though its plain as day it was originally designed as a man. People are saying its a tranny, though no in-game evidence says that. You also have to play as her for roughly half the game, after she kills Joel. And her companion is possibly a non-binary asian kid

The main enemy faction is a christian fundamentalist cult who hates LGBT people. Because thats how Druckmann, the guy running production, sees christian people. He is also a massive SJW who very likely had Anita Sarkeesian give advice on how to improve on the games narrative elements.
So all in all, it seems like the creators are forcing political messaging and agenda onto video game production and are along with the game journos are getting ready for shaming people for not liking it. That about sums it up

People are in general pissed off because, if he had an agenda remotely comparable to now during making of the first game, something clearly held his lunacy bad. He is taking a succesful title and using it as a vehicle for pushing agenda. If he had just made a whole new game, it could have been judged on its own merits, but he has to plaster it on top of something thats already achieved acclaim and did so without pushing politics.
Fans have a legitimate reason to be pissed. But i get your sentiment. Let them vote with their wallets
