Yep, better than i expected and a real trip.

Yep.

SDK when?

At at least 300 $ to play half life is now the country club of video games.

It was ok
I'm not going to defend a game that specifically removes basic features like fucking melee combat because that would be "too hard" for people that don't fucking play video games

I'm not going to defend a game that panders to the people that don't play video games, its fucking ludicrous. Removing basic features so that when they add it in the next game they go "WOW LOOK WE DID IT NOW!"

If Valve is being retarded, the massive modding scene will pick up some of the slack. They need to release the SDK so we can have a massive influx of ideas being tried out in VR.
Personally i want to see how challenging you could make the combat without restricting the ammo.

Great game, hope more people get the chance to play it.

I hope we get a Half-Life Barney so fucking bad, im not ready to leave city 17 again, the gave us the biggest cock tease with the CP officers at the start, I want an entire game interacting with NPCs, maybe a stealth game as Barney where you bring intel back to Kleiner and have bants with other civil protection

I just hope we never see Shephard again

What are the modders upto?

Alyx is literally best game of the year

Sick with what? Ligma?

What was the best kino moment of the game?
>the lantern section
>Strider fight
>hotel crawling with poison headcrabs
>fucking JEFF
>getting the shotgun
>the lightning dog GOING INSIDE A BODY sheeit
>the entire last section
>”Ms Vance... you wouldn’t need all of that to imprison Gordon Freeman” and the next stuff
>grabbing the crowbar

SDK not c inning for a year at least

Jeff and Strider fight was pire kino. I also felt vindicated by th ending since I called this from the trailer. I wish it had more weapons, though.

Zoo level sucks, tho.

were pretty sick in Manhunt. Zoo levels are great

Brain injured vortigaunt.

Every second with G-Man

Is Half-Life 3 kino confirmed?

Played the game in the last two days.
Honestly it was really good. The attention to detail was nuts.

Fucking Jeff had me crawl into the corner like no other game did in a very long time.
All the flashlight segments, in the dark, with alien plants glowing. The lights on your gloves and guns. The holosights on the SMG.

>feel sick after 2 minutes of using continuous movement
Damn, the feeling of not being fit for something.
The game was absolutely fine with blinking, but I think I'm missing out.

Continuous movement was fine for me, but continuous turning? That didn't work for me, so Snap Turn it was.

I wonder if I'll be forever motion sick or if better displays with higher refresh rates will fix that in my case.

I played with an Index and 144hz wasn't enough really. It might get better the more you use it, though, with just a terrible break-in period.

The only thing you're missing is faster movement in combat, especially in emergency situation.
And the inability to take a few steps backward, though I really wonder why no one has voiced this even for blinking movement. Pushing down on the joystick should blink you 1m back, that'd be very usefull absolutely everyfuckingwhere.

You can train yourself out of motion sickness.

The Good:
Presentation - First real AAA title designed exclusively for VR
Length - First real meaty singleplayer experience for VR
Graphics - First not shitty looking VR game
Interactivity - Most things are pretty interactive in expected ways
Chapter Jeff

The Bad:
Dumb AI - AI is dumbed down to suit the slower pace of movement and shooting
Movement - Emphasis on accessibility holds back options for more advanced and immersive movement paradigms like Boneworks's full-body presence

The Ugly:
Alyx's redesign

Take dramamine

>What was the best kino moment of the game?
The vodka factory for sure.

You've gotta be a serious beta male to still get sick with a 144hz Index. Even my fucking wife who gets car sick easily and used to get totally nauseous from a Vive at 90hz, suddenly is champing shit like Boneworks beating it in full with 0 motion sickness. Alyx is even easier on the stomach since there's no physics on the player body just sliding around like a robot. You're weak.

What's ligma?

Mr Jeff's Wild Elevator Ride

Grabbing the flashlight and turning around

Is she better now?

ah yes, i also form my opinions of video games based on watching a pewdiepie walkthrough

The terminal disease that took the life of popular Fortnite streamer "Ninja".

It's fine, you'll get used to it. The thing is, don't push yourself. If you do, you'll just subconsciously associate VR with getting sick.
HL:A feels too slow in continuous movement anyway, I found myself teleporting a lot in combat and increasing the base smooth movement speed with CVARs.

Half-life 3 (or whatever comes after ep2) will be a VR game too, right? They wouldn't just put that ending there and not release a VR game where you control gordon would they?

Just do a little at a time every day. You get used to the motion real quick and you won't have that issue anymore.

Valve said 3 big major VR releases, of which only 1 is Half Life. We got that one. The other 2 are unknown right now.
