Which is your favorite Smash? For me it's Melee and Brawl. Yeah, I know it's cool to hate on Brawl, but the game had soul, and soul counts.

Don't sit there and pretend like Ultimate isn't as bad as 4 and Brawl, my guy.
Brawl had the best modes.
bump, ultimate may have the characters and stinky "competitive", but it will always be a party game. Also, Brawl is the best.
Modded Brawl > Brawl > Melee > Ultimate > 64 > 4
any of you lads excited for Rehydrated?
Enjoyed Brawl the most but Im not a fighting game autist so I cant speak to the technical details of which is better than the others for what stupid reason
I mean, Brawl is better than Ultimate, but one thing Ultimate does right that 4 doesn't is make a name for itself. The "everyone is here" thing actually made the game memorable, while 4 remains forgotten.
yup. loved the original as a kid
is Spongebob actually good if you haven't grown up with it
Did you like the Story Mode?
So what you're saying is that Ultimate is Sm4sh with more characters. Almost like Sm4sh is a quality game and would still be enjoyable today if it was patched to severely nerf Bayonetta and balance things in general
I like Ultimate just fine, but I'm still going to call it a port of Sm4sh with more characters
I would certainly think so. If you enjoy 90s Nicktoons, the early seasons still wholly capture the feeling of those shows. I'll even go as far to say that modern Spongebob is good. Not golden age Nicktoons by a long shot, but the worst episodes are still passable. It definitely hasn't fallen from grace like Fairly Odd Parents did for a long while
>It definitely hasn't fallen from grace like Fairly Odd Parents did for a long while
it did from Season 4/5 to Season 9. thankfully the show's gotten better over the past 5 years
Ultimate is like the "good" version of Sm4sh.
Pretty much agree with your entire pic, although Brawl’s gameplay is extremely difficult for me to stomach despite the game having so much soul.
That's fair.
>brawl
Do you want to know how i know you're a zoomer ?
I'm not, but tell me how?
I genuinely don't get what people see in Brawl and this is coming from someone that played it a lot as a kid. Like what does it have? Most of the time people mention subspace which is an adventure mode that's designed like a kirby game where they made all the characters even slower than they are in other modes. The only redeeming thing about it is the cutscenes.
I'll be getting Rehydrated, but I was always more of a Movie Game kid. Really hope it gets the Rehydrated treatment too at some point, even as DLC for BfBB.
Subspace and the OST are what makes it appealing even if you didn't like the former.
The first 3 seasons and movie are comedy gold and pretty much the essential episodes for the show. It had the Simpsons effect, from season 4 and beyond it went downhill and it became and empty husk of what it was, with boring episodes, flanderized characters and awful premises. Like the Simpsons there is a decent episode once in a blue moon but it's clearly a zombie franchise by this point, in Spongebob case the original creator came back for season 9 to 12, so the quality stepped up for a while, but recent episodes started playing on nostalgia and doing callback to the early seasons showing that the show it's now desperate for approval.
i'll be honest it's mostly just nostalgia and lamenting about sm4sh and ultimate. the main focus of a smash game should be the player vs player fighting, and everyone is almost unanimous in their agreement that brawl has some of the worst fighting in the series, but then act like that doesn't effect the "good" parts of brawl like the singleplayer modes.
if brawl didn't have such an exceptional soundtrack, didn't have such good cut-scenes, and wasn't associated with an era of hype and innocence that many anons on Zig Forums remember fondly, it'd be considered the DMC 2 of the series. it already kind of is that to hardcore meleefags.
unfortunately, brawl is good at everything except being a video game and, more importantly, a smash game.
>weird uncanny valley feel
what?
Smash 4 and SpongeBob Season 4 both have a weird, unnerving quality to them. Like, they just feel empty. Part of it has to do with the fact that they're trying to be like their predecessors, but don't know what made them great, so they just fail. Idk, it's weird. Someone in another thread compared the feel of SpongeBob Season 4 to Elsagate.
it's just stiff and robotic
it does feel like an AI made these episodes, but I would go as far as compare it to elsagate
*wouldn't
Ultimate, that's where my friends are.
I went back to Brawl once about 5 years ago, I was really surpirsed at how slow it was compared to 4. Does it still have a scene? If so, why?
>Ultimate
>not great
>after the unbalanced shitshow that was Brawl and 4
>still clinging on to Melee because OLD GOOD NEW BAD boomer mentality
What is it like to have an OBJECTIVELY bad opinion, OP?
bump
yes
hopefully they rehydrate other spongebob games like movie or creature from the krusty krab.
Brawl's soul was sucked out of it by grab-release bullshit and Metaknight/Snake meta, I was loving it up until that point.
Please take a shower
Sadly I can't get used to 4, I hate that it looks like everyone is underwater when I see the game in motion.
But Snake and Meta Knight were awesome.
Cool characters, but faggotty playstyles. Ruins it for me.
