If graphics jump isn't the reason to be excited by next gen consoles anymore, what is?

You all saw the Dirt 5, Bright Memory Infinite, and Scarlett Nexus gameplay footage and you all are unimpressed. If those visuals are enough for you to be excited about the next generation of consoles, then what is?

Attached: Bright-Memory-Inifnite_05-07-20.jpg (600x337, 90.28K)

>You are all unimpressed.
?
No, they look great.

Being able to do lots of things, not just look at things.

There's not been any reason to get excited for a console since 2005.
If you're not already a dedicated mustard, you're doing it wrong and enabling cancer.

A bit underwhelming but most were gamepass tier 3rd party games.
Which is fine, because Edith Finch and Oxenfree were great.
There's still more games to come.
Still buying a sexbox, still going to enjoy my games. Especially the og-xbone ones, with even better performance and visuals.

This, but PC too since there hasn't been a relevant PC game since the 90s

The FPS jump

Framerate. The ONLY technical thing that actually matters

>there hasn't been a relevant PC game since the 90s
The top 10 most popular games of all time, even from the past ~5 years, have all been highly successful PC exclusives, or at least started as one and still remain strongest on a PC.

i'm not graphicsfag but i didn't notice any graphics jump in those "gameplay" trailers

who gives a shit about visuals when sony’s always got that covered? next gen is all about framerates, and how well these systems can perform without bursting into flame.

Show me Minecraft rtx running on the series X

no they don't retard

Y-yeah haha, it's not like Player Unknown's Shitegrounds sold 60 million copies and is the 3rd best selling game of all time or some shit, h-haha

And it's not like Minecraft sold like 180 mil and is the best selling game in history

Games that are built for SSDs

So no loading screens, games that don't have to hide loading screens with dull sections, being able to go faster in games, instant fast travel...being able to start a game from home screen in seconds

That seems like a big deal to me, and I'm sure there are other things the SSD might improve.

I expect next gen to be like a QOL update. Graphics won't go crazy, though we should have 60fps as standard, but the QOL shit should be so much better.

?
So, you're argument is casual garbage always-online skinnerbox trash like MOBAs and WoW are relevant? All their relevancy has basically ruined gaming with f2p always-online skinnerbox eSports dogshit. That's not relevant to real gaming.

This. Give me a solid 30, no screen tearing.

...

Faster storage and 4k

SOLID 30 should have been a standard this generation. Next gen is only 60. Won't buy ANY game that is less than that.

based

I've been playing games that looked like this for years on my PC. Consolefags are so easily impressed. For fucks sake, Bright Memory is just a PC game ported to consoles.

The same as always: Show us good fucking games.
So far how many years has it been? WHere every single E3 or equivalent is littered with FPS shit from every single developer. Fuck that.

>MOBAs and WoW are relevant?
If you think those came out in the last 5 years, you seriously are a cancerous console-fag zoomer.
But yes, both of those trashes still are damn relevant. Some of the most popular games on earth.

Still, my main point was on the fucking Battle Royale genre and their 1 billion (/ milliard) players, and the plethora of indie titles that folks love.

We should have had solid 60 for 10+ years now, but alas - we live in a world where "fun" is not a main focus for AAA devs, and "cinematic feel" is more important than the game-feel.

You don't get to decide what is or isn't relevant.
Facts don't care about your "but that doesn't count because me no like" attitude.

>real gaming.
What ever could that be then?
More cinematic 3rd person action games with stealth elements?

PC games have only ruined gaming. Everything for paying for server access, skinnerboxes, paid gambling, etc, all comes from PC. PC kikes literally ruined gaming.

Better AI? Are next gen console devs even talking about implications for AI?

My point is they're not relevant to good gaming. They're just a shitty nightmare of bad games.

?
You mean like BotW, Bloodborne, etc? The best games this gen?

Nah, the CPUs in both consoles have been actual garbage. So 1080@30 was to be expected. I just wanted more games to allow something like Nioh did: 1080@30 or 720@60. I gladly dropped the resolution down for stable fps.

You don't get to move goal posts.
You didn't say "good gaming" you just said there hasn't been a relevant PC game since the 90's, retard

xd

>PC games have only ruined gaming.
On the contrary.
PC gaming has always been the forward-pushing force. The showcase of technical marvel. The bastion of user-control and freedom. The valhalla of actually high frame rates and non-obscured visuals.

It is all because of the consoles-centric AAA garbage that we nowadays do not have proper modding tools or even option to host dedicated servers any more. It is because of consoles that we are lucky to even have basic options menus in games.

Lol couldn't be more wrong, more than 90% of the best games objectively ever made were made after 2000. But yeah, keep your nostalgia goggles on bro if it makes you happy

>You mean like BotW, Bloodborne, etc?
No, I don't.

>Bloodborne
>best anything
Come on son, step up your baits.

More epic cinematic set pieces.

>more than 90% of the best games objectively ever made were made after 2000
I highly doubt that.

the 10s dabbed on the 90s

PC gaming has pushed forward the following:
>Paying for your Internet connection twice to access (((game servers))).
>Always online.
>Lootboxes
>Skinnerboxes
>Early Access
>Greenlight
>Etc
Wow

if consoles hadn't pushed the 4k meme so hard we'd have decent graphics next gen. now they're pushing 60fps too, which I think is great and all but now there is even less headroom for visuals.

2010s was literally the slimiest rock bottom since the late 1970s. Absolutely the most forgettable decade so far.

BB is literally better than any PC game ever made user. That's just reality.

It's not moving the goalposts if you misinterpret my meaning, nice try, and you don't get to use some bullshit schizophrenia excuse to dismiss the blatent truth. That's all there is too it.

It's 5/10, if it wasn't a PS4 exclusive you wouldn't give two shits about it.

This is true, I can't wait for the day when it gets released on PC or Xbox so that people can stop pretending to like it.

It beats every PC game ever made (they're all 4/10 or worse).

>Paying for your Internet connection twice to access (((game servers))).
no, PC games always let you host your own servers. Unless your game's made by Ubishit or EA, it's still possible to this day.
>Always online.
Started by console exclusives
>Lootboxes
Started by console exclusives
>Skinnerboxes
Too wide of a term to be used to describe a single phenomenon.
>Early Access
Not a negative by itself.
>Greenlight
Not a negative at all.
>Etc
What more is there?

Meanwhile, the post-6th gen consoles brought us:
>unfinished games that the devs might fix retroactively, thanks to online connection.
>monthly payments to get online access.
>publisher-hosted online servers, that are killed once the sequel comes out, just to boost sales.
>match making partially because of this too.
>plethora of shitty HD remasters, because re-doing an old game is much less work than making new content.
>"Physical copies" that are actually just download coupons in a huge, empty case.

BB is one of the worst SOULS-types alone. Piss easy, ugly, and terrible framerates.
But it is cute how Snoyggers are now glinging to their ONE (1) and only remaining exclusive so tight.

no, that was the 00s

Name every PC game ever made.
I wait.

wtf is shinobu doing!?!??!!?

Why do you lie about things that can be quickly researched? Literally all this evil shit was started by PCs

Cope

Not even the best game that year

Attached: download (1).jpg (296x298, 6.9K)

Everything has been shit since 2001.

I played the shit out of at least half of those games, and as good as they are, newer games did what they did but better.
This is what I think; it's like looking at a picture of a model t and reminiscing about the experience of driving the first car ever made and about the innovation, but completely ignoring the fact that it's old garbage compared to a new veyron.

Just accept you had fun then, and can have fun now if you actually try hard enough

Negative.
A single season of 00s brought us more GOATS than the whole decade that followed.

Attached: ps2 release line up.png (1024x901, 746.65K)

Beats any PC game ever made, you literally can't name a better game, sorry.
>"I have schizophrenia."
OK

Sounds like you can't cope, and you're having a good seethe too
There's shit taste, and then there's irrelevant forgotten games that are terrible.

sucks to be you

I'd much rather graphics stay the same as they are and get 60fps minimum instead. But I'm fucking sure devs will continue to keep forcing better and better photo realistic graphics and have it run 24fps.

>No PS4 Ico
FUCK

dunno some pc games had forced or optional subscriptions around 2000 i think

always online i think is pc

lootboxes i believe started with pc
i don't even know what the fuck is skinnerbox and how it's different from lootbox so i'll just say it's same thing

pc had unfinished games that required you to get a damn floppy disc from publisher/store to make it work

man, if Konami didn't punt Kojima we'd have an answer to each of these games in the 10s

I'd think having more powerful hardware could support deeper game mechanics that don't require specific scripted events.

Like let's say you're playing a hitman game, your pour some oil on the floor in a kitchen, the guard slips on the oil and the outcome is more dependent on the context than past games where the event was mostly scripted. For instance, the oil+animation leading him to either hit his chin against a counter, tearing an ankle ligament, burning a pinkie finger on a stove, burning his trigger finger on the stove, or gets back up unharmed.

Often you need some time in the console cycle to start developing the tools to increase the level of interactivity because you just don't know how to economically do it at the start of a generation.

Attached: IdolizedNextGangesdolphin.gif (445x250, 1.27M)

>both consoles have SSD as standard
>multiplats will still have to be designed around medieval PC HDDs

i'm so sick of PCs holding back gaming

>i don't even know what the fuck is skinnerbox and how it's different from lootbox so i'll just say it's same thing
Child.

Man, the first subscription game was some shitty MMO, like EQ or something even earlier. I don't know what you're trying to say.

Stop sucking your own cock, I'm about to get pissed kid.

This game looks like shit. Low polygon trash and is empty as fuck.

There was posts exactly like yours 8 years ago.
