Take that criticism and do better next time, no need to vocalize it. The only "bad" thing about it was lack of gameplay however anyone interested in xbox got a sneak peek of some games they can look forward to including some console exclusives. Still way better than what Sony is doing who have basically fucked up their console launch before even doing anything for that exact reason. They aren't doing anything. Literally nothing. They went first and disappointed. Sony just has to show off actual gameplay with their 3rd party titles for the PS5 (wherein there's actual player interactivity with the game environment) for 30 minutes, and even if their console is weaker in the long run, they still come out ahead.
Microsoft had one of the EASIEST opportunities to start out the new generation with a dominant position and they fucked up. It's like a behind the scenes porn set view, where there's a good looking porn star being raw dogged by a group of dudes, and there's another dude on the right who's just stroking is dick unable to get hard.
He's there. ON the set. Ready to join the fun. Has the potential to enjoy the moment and bang that porn star, but can't get hard and is the joke of the conversation. That's Microsoft with this latest "reveal."

To defend MS, and someone has to, launch games are usually nothing special. Expect crossgen in the beginning and it will take 2 years for devs to really learn the system.

They acted like this would be a massive reveal and announce. People just wanted a glimpse at Halo(which comes out this year, and still has zero gameplay shown).
They think what they showed was a big deal, because they're spending tons of money on these titles and studios. So they see the balance book and are hyped up huffing their own farts. Think every one of those awkward 'announcers' in a board room together hi-fiving and patting each other the back. Brainstorms positive ideas to get back gamers trust.
If they just said 'we're sorry' and aired a fucking 1 minute halo teaser they threw together things would be fine. However the games clearly in trouble under a shit studio, and they're desperate to beat Sony and thus won't show shit until after Sony shows everything. So they can try and 1-up them in desperation.
