The only good Resident Evil games are the ones that try to be scary.
4-8 fags need not apply.

Picture not related, I assume?
Those two represent the absolutely worst of the Resident Evil.
Exactly. When I think "Resident Evil", I think of set pieces and boulders being punched
No, I think of killer atmosphere and superb cinematography.
So you think of only one game in the whole series?
RE2 Remake >>>> REmake
I'll take good gameplay over muh cinematic fixed cameras any day
Based
i remember being a kid playing re2 for the first time. that first moment when you enter the empty police station and it's playing the theme... creeped me the fuck out
No. Five.
>inb4 lil' zoomie thinks it's just RE1,2,3,4,5
Imagine having this level of Stockholm syndrome.
Being scary isnt a redeeming quality. once you grow up, fake stories dont scare you, games don’t scare you, you just get angry.
these games are barely games, closer to point and click adventures. RE4 is a good third person shooter which is great because i actually like those games unlike horror games which are all boring gimmicks
RE3 original is if 2 had no personality. Nemesis is lame. Jill is lame. The puzzles suck
rer is dogshit. I'll take actual gameplay over an occasional neat looking candle any day.
Re7 had that in spades.

>re4
>not scary
Please. You me and everybody else shit their pants when they heard dr. Salvador start revving for the first time. And what about that sound the regenerators make? That shit makes my skin crawl
novistadors.
claire is the best resident evil IMO
This. Its definitely not scary on subsequent playthroughs but I would call you a liar if you said re4 isnt scary on the first (and blind) playthrough
the only scary part of RE4 is the chaninsaw guys. although its scarier
Oh fuck yeah those things too arent those the invisible guys in the sewers they were freaky
it's terrifying when you first drop down the ladder and you hear steps coming towards you but there's nothing there
The best quality of classic Resident Evil is the structure. They are action-adventure games in the most literal sense (combining simple shooting with streamlined point-and-click adventure gameplay), and mix in (mostly) well-designed interconnected maps and inventory management. And of course you have solid presentation on top.
The horror doesn't matter, the camera doesn't matter, and the setting doesn't matter. Tension resulting from the gameplay is more important in these games than being "scared".
I’ve played all of them And consider myself a huge fan, and my favorites do not line up with the rest of the fan base.
5 is still my favorite due to its gameplay, conclusion of the “Wesker arc” that was being built up, replay ability, and it’s perfect controls and Mercenaries mode.
People will disagree
7 is the only one that is remotely scary in any way at all though. 2 isn't ever scary
no Jill is better and that's not an opinion it's a fact
re2 remake is good because it's cute and funny with mods
Dangerously based
I thought the garradors were pretty scary in just the fact that it was a man who was tortured into a violent puppet with his eyes stitched shut.
That’s honestly part of what bugs me about 4 though.
Conceptually, almost all the enemies are terrifying as hell. Yet they just don’t work as well in presentation.
It’s not even the action-y gameplay that undermines them, it’s that we don’t get up close and personal with how monstrous some of them are.
RE1 > RE4 > REmake > RE2 > RECV > RE6 > RE5 > RE7 > R3make > Rev2 > RE0 > RE3 > RE2make > Rev1
They also play it for lulz with leon making quips every 3 seconds, and the color palate (especially in the first area) isnt as dreary as the standard resident evil fare
All shit by the way
RE4 = RE2make > RE2 > RE7 > REmake > RE: CV > Rev2 > RE0 > the rest
