Which games have the PERFECT intro? An intro created to hook you right into the game and finish it?

The intro is kino and hasn't been topped by any Fallout game since.

It sets up the atmosphere perfectly.

Both honestly. Originally I was thinking more so of just gameplay, but seeing what posted reminded me of this cinematic that made 10-year old me shed a tear when I first saw my boy Sonic in glorious 3D.

In terms of story/atmosphere/etc, Half-Life 2, Doom 2016, and Prey 2017 are some of my favorites. In terms of gameplay, probably San Andreas, since it immediately throws you into the world and lets you do whatever you want.

This. It was quick, had very little tutorial prompts and had the music sync with the shotgun pump. Very well done intro.

Agreed. Great intro that ultimately doesn't have anything to do at all with the actual game.

The intro cutscene is cool, but for some reason, I really didn't like the cutscene with all the old firekeepers. Their stupid laughter was annoying, and it felt too on-the-nose with how they say you'll keep losing your souls over and over again. Yeah, we get it, it's a tough game. It's also the first time we see two NPCs talking, it kind of removes itself from the lonely, isolated feeling of the game.

For gameplay intro Wind Waker was good. Watching Aryll get snagged and Link waving goodbye to the island was always cool for me as a kid
